Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoHear, hear! I couldn't live without 4 things: 1. Windows 2. StrokeIt 3. Firefox 4. Autohotkeyby Cerberus - General Re: Right-click irresponsive during Winrar operation - 13 years agoHi T0yz, I have the exact same hardware, except the mouse (Microsoft), and I have no problem with right-click responsiveness during Winrar extracting, which I have just tested. I right-clicked and stroked a lot, all went OK. My CPU load was about 23% on one core, next to nothing on the other - I presume that this depends on the kind of file and the kind of operation that Winrar is carrying out. Iby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Action "Run Program" not working with Magnify.exe? - 13 years agoHmm that is strange. I have created the very same action in my StrokeIt, and the Magnifier runs fine. I don't think it will make a difference, but you could import my action to test. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5056292/StrokeIt%20Magnifier%20Export.sxp If explorer.exe works fine, I really can't think of anything. Now I have never used any newer Windows version than XP, so perhaps it coulby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoI think it is the same as with other gadgets and tricks: people are doing things the way they always have, and, if they do not feel they are missing something, they are unwilling to spend any time learning new things. I have been trying to teach my friends many things regarding the computer and browsing, but they hardly ever listen... I suppose I have the same attitude in some situations. Misschien kun je beter een persoonlijk bericht aan Jeff zenden.by Cerberus - General Re: Help: StrokeIT not sending keystrokes to application!!! - 13 years agoHave you tried adding an On Screen Display command to an action? That way, you will be able to tell whether the fault lies in recognizing the application or in the application's handing the keystrokes.by Cerberus - General Re: Stroke and Vista command prompt problem - 13 years agoI seem to remember having a similar issue very long ago, with some version of XP - I am not sure, though. Perhaps the command prompt stole the mouse hook or something. In my current XP Pro 32, StrokeIt works, but hotkeys do not get recognized in command prompt: "Paste" simply makes StrokeIt type "^V" in de command prompt, no pasting.by Cerberus - General Re: Failed to use StrokeIt - 13 years agoHave you solved this yet? If not, you could try adding an On Screen Display command to your action that says "test" or something: if the text is displayed on screen but the desired action doesn't happen, there could be a wrong hotkey or some error in Explorer or something else in that direction; if the text is not displayed, there is probably something wrong with the gesture or theby Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: Serious crash when importing config - 13 years agoI agree that there should be a choice between adding and replacing. However I have never seen any crash of the kind you mention: on my computer, the same action is just replaced in that case, no crash.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Zoom - 13 years agoYou could set gestures to carry out the hotkeys control+ and control- to zoom in and out in Firefox, i.e. StrokeIt will press the plus sign while holding down control, etc..by Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: Failed to use StrokeIt - 13 years agoWhen you said you added Chrome.exe and Explorer.exe, to what exactly did you add them? What you tell us indicated that gestures are disabled for Explorer, somehow. http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/6545/screenshotstrokeitwoens.jpg Perhaps you already know this, but I will explain it just to be sure. In my screenshot, I have selected the application Explorer, and to the right you see the labby Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: Middle Button Click changes "Forward" - 13 years agoYou could set it to 50; perhaps too many of your gestures will be cut off when you hesitate, but you can just experiment, it might be good for you. (250 is 1/4th of a second.) I really have no idea why your buttons are misbehaving, I'm sorry. I don't have a mouse with more than 3 buttons. What happens if you change the drawing button to mouse button 4, or 5? (Or are those options onlyby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Middle Button Click changes "Forward" - 13 years agoHi Kida. I didn't quite understand this sentence: "...the "forward"-action also becomes an "backward"-action... ". Did you perhaps assign Middle button both as a general gesture button, and as a button that is linked to a specific action? That shouldn't happen, since you can't press the middle button while holding down the same button - though I have noby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: strokeit misreads my keyboard's media playback controls - 13 years agoWhich key are you pressing that gets recognized as p? Some special hardware key on your keyboard? I have no experience with those. In Winamp, I just have StrokeIt send hotkeys, such as C for pause etc.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: strokeit crash on context menu key - 13 years agoI'm sorry, I have no idea what is causing this bug. I have XP SP3 too, but I don't have this bug. It is probably some combination of factors specific to your PC? I wish I could help.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Mouse Gesture Up-Down or Left-Right (and viceversa) WRONG behavior - 13 years agoThis you could adjust by going to Learn Gesture, performing your preferred way to do the gesture, and telling StrokeIt that this is Up-Down.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: StrokeIt and Football Manager 2010 - 13 years agoHmm that is strange. If you could identify what gesture it is that SI recognizes when you click, you could simply assign a right mouse click as a command to that gesture? You need the mouse emulator plugin for that.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: cant disable global actions - 13 years agoGo to Preferences - General, and select "Only enable StrokeIt for configured applications".by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: "Flick Windows between multiple monitor - 13 years agoI don't have multiple monitors or Win7 so I can't test, but just a few small things before I go to bed: 1. In your command, I see a dash where you should have an underscore: - though this probably wasn't the problem. 2. Are you sure you have the right gesture not only selected but also added to your action? I sometimes forget to press "add gesture" after selecting iby Cerberus - General Re: Hold the right and left buttons (at the same time) to draw gesture - 13 years agoI see your point, it would indeed be a good idea if there were a greater variety of keys or key combinations available to select for gesture drawing.by Cerberus - Improvement Requests Re: Send KeyStrokes [ doesn't work - 13 years agoThat is because the square brackets have a special function for telling StrokeIt to simulate buttons: blabla gives a new line, then bla, then a space, then bla. In order to type a bracket you need to enter \\[ I think. Click on the application in the list in StrokeIt, and you see "CLASS:blahblah".by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: no colored gesture line on secondary screen - 13 years agoHmm I'm sorry, I can't test it because I have only 1 screen...by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Win7 x64, the wheel up/down gesture doesn't work properly on some 32 bit programs... - 13 years agoI don't know - at least not for me, alas. And I still have no idea what causes this problem.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Means to simulate controlling a slider/scrollbar by sending keystrokes - 13 years agoHmm, my reaction might be a bit late. I don't think StrokeIt alone can do this, unless perhaps through Lua scripting. Now that you mention it, I also want an easier way to increase and decrease brush size in Photoshop. I have found a solution by using StrokeIt and Autohotkey, and I am actually rather happy with the result: 1. Make an action for Photoshop that sends keystroke for, say, gesby Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: app switching and tab switching in IE8 gestures - 13 years agoHey, I only just saw this. Well done, this will probably be very helpful to those that might need it, cool.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: how to enter hotkey that windows is using - 13 years agoYou could do it by exporting your StrokeIt actions (there is an option to do that), then editing the export file in a text editor such as Notepad, and importing the file again.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: General mouse improvements - 13 years agoOn the Different Kinds of Gesture and Their Use. It is great to read such an enthusiastic application of StrokeIt and AHK. Marco, some of your gestures I would find too risky: / Up = close window: I would misdraw this all the time when I was trying to draw Up, and unintentionally close my window. Up \, Down \ = shift delete: very risky too, since I have a gesture Up Down... However, on my PC, I cannot get StrokeIt to do anything by Wheel Up or Wheel Down, not even an OSD or a hotkey. I hold down Right Mouse button, scroll up or down, release RMB, but nothing happens. RMB is set as "draw gesture by holding ...". Test { gesture = WHEEL_DOWN ss = osd, OSD "Wheel down" "500" "96" "Algerianby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs |
