Re: Hotkey "backspace" unreliable with Firefox / Autohotkey: On Screen Display the culprit? - 14 years agoOK. You do not use SI in FF at all? Or you don't use FF at all? Either way would be odd for a typical Strokiteer...by Cerberus - General Re: Hotkey "backspace" unreliable with Firefox / Autohotkey: On Screen Display the culprit? - 14 years agoWhen you say "it seems that OSD is buggy", is that from your own experience, or from my post? I ask this because I am not yet sure what causes the problem: it may be Firefox, or something else.by Cerberus - General Hotkey "backspace" unreliable with Firefox / Autohotkey: On Screen Display the culprit? - 14 years agoI have StrokeIt set up so that the Left gesture instructs Autohotkey to do Backspace in Firefox. It works fine most of the time, but sometimes Firefox won't obey the command. I know I performed the gesture correctly because the on-screen text "Back" is displayed by StrokeIt, as it should be; but Firefox just won't go back to the last page, even though the Back button in theby Cerberus - General Re: A Question... - 14 years agoGood mnemonic trick. My English wasn't good enough when I was 10 to come up with such wordplay (though I might have made something up in my own language). I would make a comment on my right hand doing strokeit and my left hand lying on my knee, but uhh... I guess the infelicitous name of this program might give the wrong impression. It's just that I tend to not use my left hand at allby Cerberus - General Re: A Question... - 14 years agoI agree with all you say. I wonder whether there are some users who choose to hold down a modifying key while stroking: the purpose of StrokeIt is that I do not have to look at the keyboard. Dragging a file while holding down control/shift/alt in order to copy/move I never do, because I can never remember which key does what; I don't risk trying it because I'd hate to perform the wrongby Cerberus - General Re: A Question... - 14 years agoWell I agree that it is not perfect, and I admit that I use strokes to move or copy files only when I am not doing it from or to desktop; right-dragging the file until after timeout is more intuitive with desktop. But still, I find the stroke up - stroke down combination quite easy to use in normal folders. I don't understand why you say that cut-paste is three strokes, because I do it inby Cerberus - General Re: Higher priority gesture strokes... - 14 years agoThanks man, Process Lasso is great. With Process Tamer, StrokeIt kept switching to Above Normal on my PC; but the Lasso makes it stick at Realtime.by Cerberus - Improvement Requests Re: Problem with running app "FlashGet" - 14 years agoI am very glad it worked!by Cerberus - Improvement Requests Re: Context sensitive recognition? - 14 years agoOn the page you are at, you need to select the address information that you want Google Maps too look up every time before you do the gesture. You configure StrokeIt thus (I am assuming you already know the basics of the interface): - Hotkey: Control+C (copies selected place) - Hotkey: Control+T (open new tab) - Send Keystrokes: http://maps.google.com/maps?q= - Hotkey: Control+V (to paste thby Cerberus - Improvement Requests Re: open context menu in Total Commander - 14 years agoYou could also configure, say, the Up gesture to emulate a right mouse click in TC. You need the Emulate Mouse Click plugin for that; it can be downloaded from Leo's StrokeIt site. http://home.arcor.de/strokeit/index2.htmlby Cerberus - General Using gestures to copy and paste within StrokeIt's editor doesn't work. - 14 years agoI have Copy set to Up, and Paste to Down. This works perfectly. Except when I am editing actions in StrokeIt: if I copy a command and paste it somewhere else by using gestures, often part of the command will be empty. I remember this happening when copying the command On Screen Text. Eaxmple: I made a command to display "Open Firefox" on the screen; then copied and pasted it in intoby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Keys - Hotkey - 14 years agoThanks Burundal, interesting workaround! I must say I haven't experienced this problem anymore since I reinstalled Windows, so it was probably not StrokeIt. Another option is to Export the Actions from StrokeIt, then manually change the hotkeys in this Actions file by Notepad. The hotkeys will be there when you import the file again. For repetitive editing, a text editor is more efficientby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Spam in FAQ - 14 years agoThe wiki is great. But this spam is really bad. Today I reverted spam on the Bugs List, and 6 minutes later it was there again. See the list of recent changes: http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/wiki/index.php?title=Special:RecentChanges Something ought to be done, such as blocking anonymous edits, or at least suspending their execution until reviewed by an administrator. In order to get the window class, use the class finding tool that you use when you create a new application. It allows you to click on a window to get its class name.by Cerberus - Improvement Requests Re: Gesture and command - 14 years agoThe quickest way to find out is by exporting your actions, then opening the exported file in a text editor and search it. I will try using delays in the future when my actions don't do what I want.by Cerberus - General Thank you StrokeIt: the first program I have ever donated to in my life. - 14 years agoI have used StrokeIt for several years now, despite its unfelicitous name; it is always the first program I install on my PC after Windows, and I mean that literally: I already miss it during Windows' installation. I have always clogged my PC with countless freeware programs until Windows eventually breaks down; but StrokeIt is my favourite freeware program of all times. Hell, it is my favourby Cerberus - General Re: A Question... - 14 years agoAnother thing: If you set StrokeIt to Copy a file by a simple gesture, say, move Up, will you still have to copy files by dragging them? Probably much less than you used to do. You just click the file, stroke Up, click where you want it to go, stroke Down for paste.by Cerberus - General Re: Spam in FAQ - 14 years agoSomeone has reverted the spam. But it remains a serious problem: I had already reverted similar spam a week earlier.by Cerberus - General |
