Re: Program execution problems... - 3 years agoThere's a patch that should fix this issue, you can download it from the license page. If you've switched to using Home, uninstall Home, install Pro, and then install the patch.by jeff - General Re: Program execution problems... - 3 years agoThis is an issue with a very specific patch of Win10 64. If you can install the latest Windows 10 patches, it should start working. If that's not an option, your license purchase also gives you the right to use the Home version (which doesn't have this issue). If none of that works for you, please let me know and I'll send you a refund.by jeff - General Re: Documentation ? - 12 years agoI'm in the process of moving this site to a new webserver. The old wiki was pretty spam-ridden and the bug tracker was much neglected so I'm still trying to figure out the best way of restoring each of those services in a more managable way. Rest assured, none of the data is lost and everything should be back online soon.by jeff - General Re: pro version install - multiple os - 13 years agoYes, you can install it on each OS partition or VMs as long as they're all running on the same machine. -- Jeffby jeff - General Re: Sandboxie - 13 years agoSandboxie is a great utility for sandboxing dangerous applications. By default, when a program is running inside a sandbox, it's window class is prefixed with a # to distinguish it in the task list, which screws up all of the applications that StrokeIt detects by window class. There are two ways to fix this: 1) You can add the "sandboxed" window class to the application identiby jeff - General Re: How to Close window CMD.EXE or Ping.exe - 13 years agoYou can probably just use SendMessage with WM_CLOSE. If that doesn't work, you could also send 'Alt+Space' and then 'c' to activate the window menu and select the 'close' option. That should force-close any console programs. -- Jeffby jeff - StrokeIt Actions Re: StrokeIt + Firefox + FireGestures - 14 years agoI don't think there's an easy way to access a DOM element from an external program without creating/installing a firefox plugin to proxy the request for you. Even then there's no friendly GetDomElementAtPoint() sort of function. I created something similar for K-Meleon many years ago when I created StrokeIt, but it was a really gross kludgy hack that just simulated a mouse eventby jeff - General Re: How to hold down a hotkey? - 14 years agoYou should be able to do this with three commands: Keys: Delay: 5 seconds Keys: That won't send a million spaces, like holding the physical spacebar key for 5 seconds would do, but it would report that the spacebar was down if any programs were checking for it. I'd have to echo gemesigo's question of what you're trying to accomplish by doing this. It seems like thby jeff - StrokeIt Actions Re: WinAmp + Lua + SendMessage to get filename/title currently playing - 14 years agoI think he's suggesting that, if you only need the song title and not the filename, it's easier to just grab it from window title. I came to the same conclusion many years ago when writing winamp plugins. -- Jeffby jeff - Plugin Development Re: Just purchased pro license & now "LoadLibrary failed" error - 14 years agoThe VC8 redist or the VC8 SP1 redist should be the only libraries needed. You may have to restart your computer after installing those. -- Jeffby jeff - General Re: Shift+Delete in outlook express - 14 years agoJust to clarify what you've reported. Using the original keys plugin: OE: Message moved in folder deleted objects, does not bring up "delete confirm" message But j OE: "Delete confirm" message appears briefly, presses j to confirm it, and message is deleted without being moved to the deleted objects folder. Something about that seems odd to me. -- Jefby jeff - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Shift+Delete in outlook express - 14 years agoThere was a bug in the first plugin I posted, try this keystroke plugin and let me know what happens. -- Jeffby jeff - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Shift+Delete in outlook express - 14 years agoTry this keystroke plugin and let me know if you have different results. To install it, just copy the file to the Plugins folder in your StrokeIt installation directory. You can move the keys.dll file that is already in there to a safe place, in case this doesn't work for you and you want to switch back. -- Jeffby jeff - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Shift+Delete in outlook express - 14 years agoI tried this on my WinXP SP3 English system with all positive results: Hotkey: SHIFT + DELETE Keys: On my system, both commands behave exactly the same. Windows Explorer: Files are deleted immediately without being moved to recycle bin Outlook Express: "Are you sure" message box comes up, 'shift' key is not stuck down Unfortunately this makes it nearly impossibleby jeff - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Updated Translations Needed for StrokeIt .9.7 - 14 years agoWe can always use new translations and Thai would be great! When you finish the translation, I'll send you a demo of the installer that you can double check and if that's good, we'll share it with everyone. And, of course, you will get a license for the Pro version :) -- Jeffby jeff - General Re: Hotkey bug in new version - 14 years agoIf I create the same gesture and then use this keyview utility, I can see that each keystroke is being sent by StrokeIt and received by the key viewer. Can you try the same and see if you see all the keys coming through? Additionally, you may want to try the following commands, just to see if windows needs a little extra time to detect the SHIFT_DOWN command. Oops. It should be working now :) -- Jeffby jeff - StrokeIt Actions Re: Embedding StrokeIt in my application - 14 years agoHi, Josh, Running StrokeIt as a standalone application, and developing a plugin is the easiest way to integrate it with your product. You may want to start there. However, if that's not appropriate for your situation, you can license the recognition engine for your own product. Use the Contact Form to get more information about licensing the engine. -- Jeffby jeff - General Re: How do I close it (ie. EXIT) ...no right-click menu !! - 14 years agoLeft click on the icon to open the application window. In the menu select File and then Shutdown. Right clicking on the icon is a shortcut for disabling the program. -- Jeffby jeff - General Re: Shift+Delete doesn't work in Explorer - 14 years agoJust to clarify: (using "Send Keystrokes") is exactly the same as (using "Send Keystrokes) which is also exactly the same as Shift + Down (Using "Hotkey") All three commands will work exactly the same, so pick whichever you prefer. It sounds like something is interfering with your keystrokes. Does the command work if you uninstall Avast? -- Jeffby jeff - StrokeIt Bugs Re: New Bug Tracking Tool - 14 years agoYou can checkout the source code from svn.tcbmi.com/stokeit or view it online at http://websvn.tcbmi.com -- Jeffby jeff - StrokeIt Bugs Re: New Bug Tracking Tool - 14 years agoThere's no real separation between "Bugs" and "Ideas". For WinXP, it's a little simpler: It just reads the default value from HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\\shell\\open\\command and then replaces the %1 with the website and runs the command. -- Jeffby jeff - StrokeIt Bugs Re: 0.97 internet - open website Big problem~~~ - 14 years agoJason, If you're interested, here's how StrokeIt figures out how to open a webpage. Spread the news to all your favorite news sites! Many thanks to all of the beta testers for making this the most stable release of StrokeIt. StrokeIt now comes in two versions: Home and Pro. Home is the version you've known and loved for years, while Pro has some extra features that will appeal to business and power users. The Pro version costs only $10. Exclusive Proby jeff - General Re: 0.97 "enhanced" [alien] Registry set values - not working error hunting - 14 years agoThe registry editing functions are a little tricky, but here's an example that you should be able to use. Windows uses a lot of "magic numbers" (constants) that are usually defined in ALL_CAPS. To use these in a lua script, you'll need to define the number before using the constants. require [] -- Windows constants local HKEY_CURRENT_USER = 0x80000001by jeff - Plugin Development |
