Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years ago@MKairys - it sounds like 260609 didn't install the updated mhook.dll properly, did the installer ask you to reboot? Also, make sure you used the key from the beta site, 260609 won't work with your old key.by jeff - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoWith the latest build, you shouldn't be seeing a plugin called "lua5" in the plugins list. Look in your StrokeIt install dir for a folder called "Plugins." You should see a file called lua5.1.dll but no other files that begin with "lua". If for some reason you actually have a lua5.dll file, please let me know.by jeff - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoThere's only one plugin, and it's named lua5.1.dll (for lua plugin compatibility reasons). There's probably a filename parsing bug that someplace that mistakenly strips off the .1.dll, thinking it's the extension. Where are you seeing it referenced as lua5? If you're talking about the plugins list, then there's a new build (6/26) that should address that bug.by jeff - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoI put up a new build that should fix any mhook problems. If you're still seeing that error, it may be an installer problem. -- Jeffby jeff - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoThere's a new build up that should fix a few issues, notably: The mouse plugin should "move" and "click" properly now You can create a new lua script by typing the name in the box and clicking edit (your editor should prompt you to create the new file) Regarding the 0,0 relative window coordinates. Long Answer: . .9.5 stored data files in the installation dir (%PROGRAMFILES%\StrokeIt) .9.6 stores data files in the user profile (%APPDATA%\TCB Networks\StrokeIt) If .9.6 finds data files in the install dir, it will move them into a folder called OldData and then migrate them into the profile of the user who in installing StrokeItby jeff - General Re: Causing hard crashes - 14 years agoIf StrokeIt is crashing, it will write a crash report in %APPDATA%\TCB Networks\StrokeIt\CrashRpt If you have any files in there, please zip them up and email them to me (my email address is in the about screen) -- Jeffby jeff - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoOkay, so this launch hasn't gone as well as I had hoped :) There's a new build up there that should at least run on everyone's systems. The plugin names will still be blank (don't worry about it) The mouse plugin should be working. The lua5.1.dll requires msvcr90.dll so you may need to download this package from Microsoft if you get an error. Log in to the beta site and get the new key, then re-install StrokeIt with the new key. -- Jeffby jeff - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoThe beta site took a little longer than I was expecting, but it should be solid now. I've just sent out beta logins to everyone who requested one. If you requested access, but did not receive a login, please email me and let me know. Note: If you have purchased a StrokeIt license, you should have received a confirmation email that serves as your license to use the software. The new releases are all available on the download page.by jeff - General .9.6 has been released - 14 years agoThanks to all the beta testers, .9.6 is now finally ready for everyone! Please pass the news along to all your favorite websites!by jeff - General Help beta test .9.7 "enhanced" - 14 years agoAs many of the old timers around here know, I've had the intention of creating an "enhanced" version of StrokeIt for awhile now. It seems that time has finally come. The enhanced version will feature lua scripting, mouse commands, and better gesture details for plugins. It will be aimed at power users and, through scripts, will give users a great deal of power and flexibility.by jeff - General Re: Help test upcoming release! - 14 years agoI'm still completely unable to recreate any issues with the mouse wheel. I've tested clean installations of WinXP 32, WinXP 64, Vista 32, Vista 64, and Win 7 64 with no additional drivers or mouse software installed. I'm starting to think this may be related to other applications interfering with the mouse hooks. Who is experiencing 100% lack of response with the mouse wheelby jeff - General Re: Help test upcoming release! - 14 years agoI'm having trouble reproducing the mouse wheel problems. Can someone experiencing them try two things: 1) Hold down right-click and continually move the mouse wheel in one direction - does the StrokeIt icon turn blue? 2) Uninstall IntelliPoint and restart StrokeIt. Does the mouse wheel work now? Also, what OS are you using? Thanks, Jeffby jeff - General Re: Help test upcoming release! - 14 years agoFor those having trouble with the wheel up/down gestures, what type of mouse are you using and have you installed any of the software or drivers that came with that mouse?by jeff - General Suggest preconfigured applications for upcoming release - 14 years agoThe list of preconfigured applications is very dated and in desperate need of revision. What applications would you like too see configured for the next release? -- Jeffby jeff - General Re: Help test upcoming release! - 15 years agoIf you're having trouble identifying applications by file name, please upgrade to the latest release (07052009) and try again. If you're still having trouble, please let me know what OS you're using. This should work more reliably with protected mode IE7/IE8, please let me know if you experience any further issues with protected mode apps. Mhook.dll needs to be updated to work with .9.6by jeff - General Help test upcoming release! - 15 years agoHello, Everyone, It's been awhile, but I finally have a little more time to work on StrokeIt. I've got some big ideas for where I want to go with this project, but for now I'm going to focus on stability and performance fixes, especially on Vista, 64-bit platforms, and Windows 7. Vista users: Line drawing should now work on Aero desktops, however, because of the changes Vistaby jeff - General Yes, I'm still alive :) - 16 years agoAs some forum members have noticed, it's been awhile since I've had a chance to read the forums or work on StrokeIt. I'm not dead, and I thank everyone for their concern. Although StrokeIt is a very stable and feature rich program, there are two issues which affect its performance under Vista and I hope we can come up with a solution to at least one of them. 1) Line drawingby jeff - General Yes, I'm still alive :) - 16 years agoAs some forum members have noticed, it's been awhile since I've had a chance to read the forums or work on StrokeIt.
