Re: How many gestures have you performed? - 12 years agoThe secret? He/she must be using it for a very long time :) (on the same os). My relationship with StrokeIt dates to somewhere around 2003. I've installed and reinstalled my OSes (XPs, Vistas and several Win7s) countless times since then, resetting the counter each time, so the sum of my gestures performed is likely well beyond 5M. But since I started using AHK excessively in the lastby gemisigo - General Re: removed all global actions by a misstake - 12 years agohttp://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/forum/read.php?3,54699,54741#msg-54741by gemisigo - General Re: [Hold LButton, Click RButton] - 12 years agoSorry, but you're doing it wrong :) Having multiple gestures assigned to an action only makes it triggered by any of them and not by their combination. Your Zoom In action is triggered by holding down the trigger button (RMB by default) and then by either wheel up or pressing RMB down, which in turn makes no sense if you have RMB assigned as trigger button. The same applies to Zoom Out and Clby gemisigo - Improvement Requests Re: How many gestures have you performed? - 12 years ago41356 on my home machine and 44212 at my workplace, both Win 7 Pro, 1.25 years old and another 3729 on an 8 month old virtual machine. All the previous ones on several real and virtual Win XP installations are history :)by gemisigo - General Re: Problem with 'Minimize' command on Win7 - 13 years agoI've experienced the same. Workaround: create an app that identifies the desktop (if you haven't done so yet) and override the gesture that minimizes by default to do nothing (or something useful).by gemisigo - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoActually I am :) I posted a few questions on stackoverflow and superuser. I used to check it regularly but I haven't been there recently. Thanks for reminding me.by gemisigo - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoYes, it is. All you have to do is to restart the script.by gemisigo - General Re: Send Keystrokes - How to type " [ " ? - 13 years ago"" for "[" "" for "]" or their short forms "\[" and "\]" respectively (without the quotes, of course).by gemisigo - General Re: StrokeIt + Firefox + FireGestures - 13 years agoNot exactly. It's a bit more complicated than that. You can configure it to use the same gesture with different actions for different websites as long as it is not defined as global for the browser. If it is defined in and also defined in Browser global (FF in your case) the Browser global overrides and it is executed. If it is not in but in Browser global there is no override of and it sby gemisigo - General Re: StrokeIt + Firefox + FireGestures - 13 years agoSort of. I did something similar you described here but with OSD commands to see what happens. The results suggested that this assumption is correct. No extensive research or torture test was taken though :)by gemisigo - General Re: keystroke speed - 13 years agoYou have several options. You can us Lua scripts (available in StrokeIt Pro) to store and insert your snippets through the clipboard. Or, if you are into SQL you can use Auto Hotkey to store and insert your snippets directly and invoke its scripts from StrokeIt or (which is better) with a user defined hotkey. IMHO it's faster than switching back and forth between mouse and keyboard. But ifby gemisigo - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoWell, you won't know until you try, right? :) I did not use it in the distant past but I use it for about half a year and I must admit it would be hard to go along without it now. Read its main page to see if it is of any use to you.by gemisigo - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoDepends. It's quite powerful. What do you want to accomplish?by gemisigo - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoNo need to post question in two or more separate threads. Especially not in ones not related at all :)by gemisigo - General Re: how to run a file that isnt an .exe - 13 years agoYou're missing the quotation marks surrounding the Arguments. Since your path contains spaces you have to enclose it with double quotation marks (eg. "D:\PROGRAM FILES\PORTABLE APPS IN HERE\strokeit\my ahk scripts\STOPwatch.ahk"). They should be used with File too (there are spaces in the executable path as well) but for some reason StrokeIt does not require it. Perhaps it quotes itby gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: how to run a file that isnt an .exe - 13 years agoThis should work. You must be missing something. Post here the contents of the .cfg file containing the action, please.by gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: StrokeIt + Firefox + FireGestures - 13 years agoHi Cerberus! I said that because of my experiences. I noticed that StrokeIt uses a 1-level override, that is, it overrides the gestures that are closer to the top of the Command Editor with those that are closer to the bottom in case they would both apply. apply to all windows that do not have their app window disabled in StrokeIt and if they have another app that identifies them, StrokeItby gemisigo - General Re: StrokeIt + Firefox + FireGestures - 13 years agoHi! Gestures assigned to applications other than (Default.cfg) override those defined in . Take care not naming you application starting "[" in which case it can be that overrides your actions. I use CTRL+F4 to close tabs in FF and it is assigned to the same gesture (Down-Right) that closes windows otherwise. It works flawlessly. It might be that your FF application is not identifiedby gemisigo - General Re: Can't run Explorer and Browser with Version 0.97 Pro - 13 years agoNot really, sorry. It works here and nothing I tried made it stop working. My last resort would be to create a shortcut somewhere that is not in a restricted area (C:\Program Files, C:\Windows, their sub-folders and such) and try to run it indirectly using that shortcut. Perhaps Leo or Cerberus drops by soon. They have more experience with such issues than I do.by gemisigo - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Disable only for a Firefox tab - 13 years agoWildcards. Try something like "*youremail@gmail.com*" as pattern.by gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: Can't run Explorer and Browser with Version 0.97 Pro - 13 years agoThere are a few, but this one is not. Though I cannot say for sure for Win 7 Enterprise 32 bit but it certainly works under Win XP Professional SP 3, Win7 Pro 32 bit and Win7 Pro 64 bit. Admin account was not what I was referring to. Try starting it by RMB on the executable and then "Run as administrator". Jeff tends to disappear for years but I think you should drop a bug report hby gemisigo - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Can't run Explorer and Browser with Version 0.97 Pro - 13 years agoWhat's the status of UAC? Do you run StrokeIt with admin rights? StrokeIt might not be able to start applications (or operate in them) that require to be run elevated (or are just simply run that way), unless StrokeIt itself is elevated as well.by gemisigo - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Windows 7 'Snap' help - 13 years agoI'm afraid that's not possible since StrokeIt executes actions on window that is under the cursor (excep for Lua where you can search for a specific window or Send/Post Messages which also lets you target by class or title). Your method will work as long as you relocate the cursor to be over the window you want to move. I recommend you to combine StrokeIt with AHK (Auto Hotkey) for "by gemisigo - General Re: Can't run Explorer and Browser with Version 0.97 Pro - 13 years agoIs your gesture to trigger explorer.exe defined global (and not disabled)? The thing you open by them is running in the browser. It does not depend on the browser running because it will use the browser if it runs and start one if it does not. You can check that by window task manager, by Chrome&by gemisigo - Improvement Requests Re: For StrokeIt to recognise domains within a browser - 13 years agoActually, gmail and google calendar are not applications (at least not in windows terms). They run in the browser so to StrokeIt they all seem to be the same ordinary browser. You can make StrokeIt (try to) recognize them as different applications by identifying them by window title and using pattern match. Regarding the usual browser gestures, if they are triggered by the same button, you canby gemisigo - Improvement Requests Re: Strokeit and Directory Opus - 13 years agoTime-out is the time required to cancel the action if you bring your mouse to full stop but do not release the trigger button. You can set it in Edit->Preferences in the Command editor. Meanwhile you could test if it also happens using LMB as gesture trigger.by gemisigo - General Re: Strokeit and Directory Opus - 13 years agoMight be stupid questions but just to be sure: OS and SI versions? What is your time-out setting? You do wait for it, don't you? Is it related exclusively to Opus? I've been experiencing similar issues for a few days. My "close" gesture is "down-right" and my paste gesture is "down". There were occasions when SI pasted into the window I wanted to closeby gemisigo - General |
