Re: Volume Up with WHEEL_UP Gesture - 13 years agoHi! It's not clear to me what do you want to accomplish here so let's clarify the wheel gesture first. The wheel gesture is the trigger. When you press down RMB (assuming this is your gesture button) and then turn the wheel on your mouse up or down the command you assigned to that gesture will be triggered. It does not send the "wheel event has happened" message to any appliby gemisigo - General Re: StrokeIt Activate/deactivate Command - 13 years agoI didn't know that. Excellent idea. Every day we learn something new :)by gemisigo - General Re: StrokeIt Activate/deactivate Command - 13 years agoYou're welcome :) May I suggest another command that temporarily disables StrokeIt (the next gesture is not analyzed/executed) and you can disable gesture recognition by holding down a button (CTRL by default). Maybe that suits you better than disabling StrokeIt completely.by gemisigo - General Re: Run vbs Scripts with StrokeIt - 13 years agoHi Madisson! Most non-exe applications require a running environment. When you double-click such a file, it is "run" using this environment. I guess VisualBasic scripts are run the same way. Try using a Run Program command, giving "C:\Windows\System32\WScript.exe" as File and your .vbs script file as Arguments.by gemisigo - General Re: StrokeIt Activate/deactivate Command - 13 years agoInteresting. I don't think there is a simple solution. Of course you could send/post a windows message to StrokeIt so that it thinks there has been a RMB on the tray icon. But since StrokeIt is disabled it cannot do that. Perhaps from Lua. Not that I know which message to send. Or you could just restart StrokeIt, it is enabled by default after restart. You can bring forth its command windby gemisigo - General Re: Win7 x64, the wheel up/down gesture doesn't work properly on some 32 bit programs... - 13 years agoHi Allen! Send him an email. His address can be found in the about box in StrokeItby gemisigo - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Action "Run Program" not working with Magnify.exe? - 13 years agoYou're welcome ;)by gemisigo - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Lock computer? - 13 years agoWhile the rundll32.exe etc. version works, but since sending keystrokes does not require a keyboard physically to be present (it does not use the hardware, it sends keypress messages), the WIN+L is method shall work just as well (and a bit more readable).by gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: Action "Run Program" not working with Magnify.exe? - 13 years agoI checked that on my Win7 x64 Pro and I have to confirm that it does not work. The reason is unknown. On the other hand I've found a workaround. Please try this and send an update if it's working for you or not. Instead of choosing "C:\Windows\System32\Magnify.exe" use "C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe" as file, without any start dir set and enter the following intby gemisigo - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoNeither to I. When not being able to use StrokeIt everything seems so slooow as if I'm not doing anything at all. It's very addictive :)by gemisigo - General Re: StrokeIt brings out desktop while playing warcraft WIN7 x64 - 13 years agoThere are many applications that are started by an .exe file but their window is created by a .dll/whaterev. Beside that there might be occasions when identifying something by filename does not work reliably. Next time it dumps you to the desktop start a task manager (preferably Process Explorer) and take a look at the running processes. If there are other process started by war3.exe you should inby gemisigo - StrokeIt Bugs Re: How to use the WinMsg command? - 13 years agoThere is no list of commands except for those few predefined, which are pretty much the same for (almost) all applications. But most applications can use other ones too and many of them implement their own message handler. First you have to decide which application is the target of the message, which is probably the current window, but class name/title should work as well. Then you have to fetch tby gemisigo - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoSorry, I did not want to be a smart ass:) Using both buttons would take away 'button gestures' eg. LMB down/up. Your problem is that you move the pen a little bit when you click, and that is interpreted as a gesture, am I correct? You could try to set an extremely low gesture timeout but I think that would render normal use more difficult. The ultimate solution would be a setting tby gemisigo - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoI'd discourage :) the use of expression 'must'. It includes restriction. Not to mention, that using a single button you have the ability to cancel a gesture by pressing the other one without having to wait for the timeout (if it is set at all) while using both of them would result in multiple scenarios according which button is released first, what happens when a button is releasedby gemisigo - General Re: Can't identify java application (class, title or filename) - 13 years agoIs the gesture set to command? Just selecting it does not set it. You have to click the "Add gesture" button.by gemisigo - General Re: operation according to selected or not - 13 years agoI recall someone already asked why StrokeIt does not have any knowledge about the application where the gesture was drawn. While your ideas seem to increase StrokeIt usability and add to its features, actually they would degrade performance and kill the goal to keep StrokeIt quick, small, and easy to maintain. First of all, Jeff would have to make StrokeIt able to detect if there are any selby gemisigo - Improvement Requests Re: StrokeIt doesn't import Learning Mode part - 13 years agoIf you mean exporting and importing your custom gestures, I never really tried that. I always moved my whole StrokeIt folder. This way I had the same gestures everywhere. You can customize your actions by having 'Actions_home', 'Actions_work', 'Actions_whatever' folders for different machines.by gemisigo - General Re: Gesture customization - 13 years agoposerpro Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Greetings, > I know that the Gesture has to be a continuous > stroke, so A is ^, can we use 2 strokes or 3 ? > such as H has 3 strokes. Yes, gestures have to be continuous. 'H' is not drawn by 3 strokes but with a single on like small written 'h'. > Furthermore, Strokeit reads thby gemisigo - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoIt sounds reasonably though I'd argue. The next most frequent feature is a double-click on the tray icon which would show the Command editor. You know, if at first you don't succeed... Well, then skydiving really not for you :)by gemisigo - General Re: How to create Gesture for launching Control Panel's cpl - 13 years agoWhile your solution should work, a more elegant approach would be to create a "Run - Run Program" command with "C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe" (or whatever its path is) as File and "shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL intl.cpl,,1" as arguments.by gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: Keystrokes - 13 years agoI see. F10 is another key that is threated differently than normal keys. Try this: hr Square brackets are important. Having "f10" instead of "" will enter the string "f10" (though the keywords are case insensitive, as far as I know).by gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: Keystrokes - 13 years agoI'm not exactly sure what do you want to accomplish (I do not use FF) but if you want the sequence where you press shift, then h, then r, then release shift, you've got to enter the following into a Send Keystrokes command, exactly as you see it below: hrby gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: Failed to use StrokeIt - 13 years agoI tried your export file and it worked (Go Top lacked the HOME hotkey, but that's not the problem here). What happened exactly? The line was not drawn or the desired action did not execute?by gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: Zoom - 13 years agoI see. Then the easiest "gesture" is to scroll the wheel while holding CTRL, it works in many applications. If you want to avoid using the keyboard, you've to create two gestures, one pressing down CTRL, and another one releasing it after using the wheel since that does not happen automatically. I'd rather stick to the first method.by gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: Zoom - 13 years agoWhat do you mean under 'gesture for zoom'? There are many different gestures (that you draw) and they trigger actions. It's up to you which gesture activates zoom in selected application (if it supports it). StrokeIt does not zoom things on its own (does not have native/built-in action for that) if that's what you're talking about, but you can find many 3rd party applicatiby gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: Failed to use StrokeIt - 13 years agoCheck application identifiers. It might happened that you've added Windows Explorer class to Opera rules.by gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions Re: StrokeIt and Football Manager 2010 - 13 years agoIt seems that application uses some kind of a mousehook and that interferes somehow with StrokeIt. As long as you don't mind pressing a key you'll be fine with the suggested method. The key can be changed in Preferences (CTRL + P in Command Editor), Shift, Ctrl and Alt are supported.by gemisigo - StrokeIt Bugs Re: StrokeIt and Football Manager 2010 - 13 years agoRight clicking without moving the mouse should work normally because it does not start a gesture. You can temporarily disable StrokeIt by pressing and holding a key (CTRL by default) if you need to move your mouse between pressing and releasing RMB.by gemisigo - StrokeIt Bugs Re: How to send TAB command for next dialog control - 13 years agoYou can send whatever message ID you like, those you can select from the dropbox are predefined. As long as you know the message ID, you can enter into the dropbox, it's editable. You said it enter a tab into the text field. Was it an editbox or a text box? In which application does that happen? By the way, the version of your StrokeIt/OS?by gemisigo - StrokeIt Actions |
