Re: Gestures Inside "Dialog Boxes" - 12 years agoHave you tried whether hotkeys work in the dialogue boxes? If you can get hotkeys to work there, you can assign them to gestures instead of what you had before.by Cerberus - General Re: HOW TO WORK STROKE IT ON THE "FLASH PLAYER" SITE.. - 13 years agoSure, here is what I use: ;----Take away focus from flash to use shortcuts in Firefox--------- ;---- x-coordinate for click is relative to screen size---- ClickPlace := A_ScreenWidth - 120 ;----------Next Tab-- ^!+n:: ; this tells AHK to do the following upon control+alt+shift+N : #IfWinActive ahk_class MozillaUIWindowClass MouseGetPos, xpos, ypos MouseMove, %ClickPlace%, 43, 0by Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: StrokeIt doesn't work on Opera after Oper's latest update - 13 years agoYeah it was my fault, see message above.by Cerberus - General Re: Emulate mouse wheel scrolling? - 13 years agoYou could use Autohotkey to simulate the mouse wheel. You would use code like this: !F11::WheelUp This makes alt-F11 send a signal to your computer as though the wheel were turned upwards a notch. You could then set a gesture in StrokeIt to execute alt-F11, and voilà . I'm not sure how this could be useful, though: a gesture takes far too long to be of use if you want to scroll a pageby Cerberus - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoRight; and you don't even need to reload the script if you just make context-sensitive hotkeys. That is, you could use a special key combination that changes what certain other keys do, and revert it by pressing the same combination again. Or you could create a hotkey that does different things depending on what program is active, etc. etc. Possibilities are endless. Most of this is pretty eaby Cerberus - General Re: HOW TO WORK STROKE IT ON THE "FLASH PLAYER" SITE.. - 13 years agoThe problem is that keystrokes get sent to the flash application, not to Windows, when you are in a flash application. Try it by playing a Youtube video, pausing it, and using hotkeys: alt+F4 won't close the window, etc. Extremely annoying: there should be settings in each browser to allow only specific key presses to be taken over by flash applications. The only way around it that is someby Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: Thunderbird - 13 years agoMaybe try an On Screen Display instead of the sound file, as an extra test?by Cerberus - General Re: StrokeIt + Firefox + FireGestures - 13 years agoOkay, thank you for testing! At least we should be aware that this could be a problem in some set-ups. It is a pity, in a way, that we can't have StrokeIt configured differently for different websites. Oh, well.by Cerberus - General Re: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all StrokeIt users - 13 years agoHey, hey, not so fast! I still need more time to get to know 0.97, let alone 0.98+!by Cerberus - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoAutohotkey is basically a programming language. It is special in two ways: 1. It is geared towards beginners: if you have never programmed anything in your life before, as I hadn't before AHK, you can still create some pretty useful scripts in a few minutes, thanks to its excellent help file (don't ever waste time trying to do something without checking the example in the help file).by Cerberus - General Re: StrokeIt + Firefox + FireGestures - 13 years agoGemisigo, that is very interesting! I didn't know it worked like that. So do I understand correctly if I assume the following. Suppose I made two applications: one (FF) that recognized any Firefox window, and another (FF Gmail) that only recognized a Firefox window when Gmail was in its title. Suppose I created an action that would close the window in the general FF application, and anotheby Cerberus - General Re: how to do a simple copy text?! - 13 years agoYeah this forum isn't always very lively... but sometimes it is! I am glad you fixed your problem somehow. Cutting with control-c sounds really weird!by Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: Perl script to list gestures - 13 years agoThis is pretty cool! I will remember this when I need it.by Cerberus - Plugin Development Re: StrokeIt + Firefox + FireGestures - 13 years agoGemisigo is right: Strockit is able to do what you want. I didn't know applications starting with " [ " could be overridden by Global gestures! I like to have a dedicated gesture C myself for closing any window, including FF, but I have Down-Right set to close a tab in FF and Opera, and close a document in Notepad++.by Cerberus - General Re: Mouse button activity while drawing gesture. - 13 years agoI've tried, but I think there is no way to change this. The problem is that any mouse click, be it Right, Middle, or Left, deactivates the active window if the cursor is over another window. There is no way to register which window was active before you pressed down the mouse button, because there is nothing to trigger the action that should register it, since nothing happens yet before the bby Cerberus - General Re: StrokeIt doesn't work on Opera after Oper's latest update - 13 years agoOh God, you are not going to believe how stupid I am: I forgot to check whether gestures were disabled, and, yes, they were. So stupid! I have no idea how they got disabled (perhaps I misclicked some time), but still. Thanks for testing! That at least helped me because it convinced me that it was not Opera's fault.by Cerberus - General Re: Jeff active in Amazon Wishlist - 13 years agoCongrats! Too bad he hasn't added anything to this list in a year... we might have bought him something...by Cerberus - General Re: test - 13 years agoThis post deserves a bump. Made me grin. Note that Jeff is the guy that has made StrokeIt, and that this forum was already 6 years old by the time he made this thread.by Cerberus - General Re: StrokeIt won't work for me? It stopped working suddenly! - 13 years agohttp://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/forum/read.php?2,55566,55566#msg-55566 I think this bug is similar. I don't think the guy that reported it solved it. No need to read my (too long) post in that thread, as I have written basically the same tips above. Do keep us posted on your progress! I really hope you solve this.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: StrokeIt won't work for me? It stopped working suddenly! - 13 years agoI had a somewhat similar problem some time ago. This is probably not at all the same problem, but hey you are probably desperate enough to try anything, even though it probably won't help. A few thinsg you could try: - There may be errors in the configuration files that contain your gestures/actions. It is our predicament that we are stuck with several very good browsers nowadays, so that we must pick one and neglect the others, even though they are still excellent.by Cerberus - General StrokeIt doesn't work on Opera after Oper's latest update - 13 years agoSince Opera's latest update (11.01) there is no StrokeIt trail when Opera is active. Very strange; it used to work fine. All other programs work too. Does anyone have the same issue? I haven't enabled any mouse gestures in Opera or anything, it just happened straight after the update. I noticed it only later because I rarely use Opera. They must have been left-overs from an earlier attempt, in which I tried to detect an image in the context menu (which failed). I can't believe I didn't notice them when I posted this code. Please pretend I never put them there. Without those lines, the effect actually doesn't look so bad. (I still prefer Easy Drag To Go, but OK.)by Cerberus - General Re: "Ctrl + mouse click" with classic gesture to open link in new tab - 13 years ago@Mr01: Hmm, I wonder why my method didn't work for you. Are you sure you made a screenshot of the statusbar, not the address bar? Are you sure you saved the screenshot file correctly? It should look like this: http://img291.imageshack.us/f/ffforegroundtab.gif/ It will of course not look exactly the same for your browser set-up. And of course it could be broken if your Firefox doesn't shby Cerberus - General Re: "Ctrl + mouse click" with classic gesture to open link in new tab - 13 years agoThe below is extremely ugly, but it works for me, and the FF interface is so weirdly built that AHK cannot recognise any of its controls. It works by matching a screenshot snippet against the status bar, in order to see whether the cursor is hovering over a link. You might need to enable that if the statusbar doesn't display that in your set-up. ~RButton::MouseGetPos, xpos, ypos ^!Numpad8::by Cerberus - General Re: summary of improvements request no claim to be complete - 13 years agoHuh? The good news is that you can fix it by making an Autohotkey script. I have emended a small error in the code from my previous message, now you can use it: just make a new .txt file, copy-paste my code into this file, rename the file to .ahk, install Autohoby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Ctrl + Shift + Prior (Page UP) doesn't work :( HELP! - 13 years agoI have just tried it, and I get the same bug as mr01 gets: SI just goes to the tab to the left, instead of moving the tab itself, as it does when I actually press the same buttons on the keyboard. I have tried it on a clean FF profile with only Tab Utilities installed. XP SP3 32-bit, SI 9.7 Pro, FF 3.6.13, newest version of Tab Util. Perhaps some other program is interfering with this? I cannot imagine why I made such a dumb post, my apologies. I hope I was drunk.
