Re: Using together with Gesturefy in Firefox (browser gestures) - 5 years agoWhat you could try is using different mouse buttons: make Stroke It gestures while pressing down the right mouse button, Gesturify gestures using the left or middle button. Or buy a mouse with more buttons: mine has lots, and I am very happy I got it.by Cerberus - General Re: Replacements for StrokeIT for the future? - 5 years agoI have bought / donated to both Stroke It and Strokes Plus a long time ago, first one, then the other. I have enjoyed working with both. I switched from Stroke It to Strokes Plus a long time ago; if I remember correctly, it was because of stability and functionality. Stroke It is faster, though. But I've been very happy with Strokes Plus (haven't tried the .net version yet).by Cerberus - General Re: Update coming for StrokeIt Windows 8? - 8 years agoYou say Strokes Plus disturbs regular modifier key using. Can you explain what you mean exactly? What bad things happen, and when?by Cerberus - General Re: Is there a worthwhile alternative to strokeit yet? - 8 years agoMay I ask why Strokes Plus isn't a worthwhile alternative? (I still love Stroke It, but it was unreliable for me under certain circumstances, so I switched to Strokes Plus years ago. Strokes Plus has been very reliable for me all the time, Windows XP.)by Cerberus - General Re: Issuing Commands while In Mozilla FF - 10 years agoHi! I'm not sure I wouldn't call it a bug: Flash games still work in Chrome, and yet it doesn't eat all your keys. I think Chrome lets Flash eat all normal keys, but not certain important hotkeys, like control-w. Try it. This makes a lot nore sense to me than the annoying Firefox approach. In Firefox, I have to use an Autohotkey script to get around it: it clicks on the address bby Cerberus - General Re: What is "\ Up" means ? - 11 years ago"\" means a diagonal line from the top left to the botton right (or the reverse). It is just the physical shape of the slash that you use as a gesture, i.e. a diagonal line. "Down" means you start at the top left and go down to the bottom right, "Up" is the reverse direction. "/" is a diagonal line from the top right to the bottom left (or the reverse).by Cerberus - General Re: Where did Jeff go? Would he be back here again? - 11 years agoWe all are! He will be back eventually. But sometimes life gets the better of him and he hasn't got the time for a long while.by Cerberus - General Re: StrokeIt and AquaSnap 1.6.3 - 11 years agoAs a long-time user of Stroke It, I switched to Strokes Plus fairly recently, and I must say it is significantly better. The main improvement for me is that gesture drawing is far more reliable under heavy CPU/RAM stress (or whatever; what causes the unreliability of Stroke It never became entirely clear). In Stroke It, I would very often draw \ instead of L, because it would only pick up the endby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: system volume in stokeit? - 11 years agoI don't think this is possible. What you can do, however, is use an intermediate Autohotkey script to accomplish the same. You would then set your SI gesture to execute any hotkey you like (such as control-shift-u and as control-shift-d), and create two hotkeys in an Autohotkey script that convert this into volume up and down: ^+u::Volume_Up ^+d::Volume_Down In Autohotkey, ^ is conby Cerberus - General Re: Suggestion - Mobile StrokeIt - 11 years agoThat would indeed be great! But I don't think Jeff has the time, he's often away. There is GMD Gesture Control for Android, which does some nice things, but I think it can only recognise a limited number of gestures so far—only gestures that are a combination of Up/Down/Left/Right—, and the recognition doesn't appear to be stellar so far. But it is actively worked on,by Cerberus - Improvement Requests Re: StrokeIt Home .9.7 can't work with Firefox 14 + - 11 years agoThat is strange. Really works on my XP 32bit SP3. Could it be something else on your computer? What happens if you create a new user account in XP (just for testing) and install FF and SI there?by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: StrokeIt Home .9.7 can't work with Firefox 14 + - 11 years agoI tested it on FF 15 (XP SP3), and at one point I got an error message "Cannot Create Region" from Stroke It, and no lines were drawn any more; but, after I had clicked "OK", it worked again. I have tried to get this error window to come up again, but it wouldn't, and Stroke It continued to work as it should. However, when I restarted Stroke It, the exact same thing haby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Licence Question - 11 years agoI wouldn't worry about it, and I don't think Jeff would either. I would just use it as I liked.by Cerberus - General Re: CPU priority - 11 years agoI don't think it is possible, I tried this too.by Cerberus - Improvement Requests Re: strokeit wiki unavailable? - 11 years agoThankfully, our faithful Leo maintains a site where all that information is still available: http://home.arcor.de/strokeit/index2.html In his "Help for Strokeit", you will find the key strokes. On his "Gestures" page you will find the visual gestures.by Cerberus - General Re: strokeit wiki unavailable? - 11 years agoNo, alas, it has been down for a while. Jeff took it down because there was too much spam, apparently. Do you need any specific information?by Cerberus - General Re: key "[" send help me - 11 years agoUnfortunately, Jeff (the Creator) has taken the Wiki off line, and I think that's where the list of key codes for the Send Keystrokes command was located. However, I have found a (poorly formatted) copy, where you can find all key codes with a bit of effort: http://hi.baidu.com/caise/item/6b2edf0ee3313194a3df43b9 The code for the left bracket is . Have a good time with Stroke It!by Cerberus - General Re: No drawing on the desktop - 11 years agoI really have no idea. You could check whether the desktop isn't in list of identifiers for the Disabled application? I think the identifier of the Desktop is Program (try it).by Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: No drawing on the desktop - 11 years agoIt normally works on the Desktop. I have no experience with Win 7 64b, but you could try running SI as an administrator (right-click on the exe file or the shortcut, pick "run as admin". Then there could be other things, I wish I knew more about this. I have seen several other threads come by about problems in Win 7, so perhaps search the forum. Good luck!by Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: Storing strokeit config on dropbox. Location of config file - 11 years agoHaha, yes. I also think spammers' insinuations about the genitals of their recipients are generally projection.by Cerberus - General Re: Storing strokeit config on dropbox. Location of config file - 11 years agoThanks! It is an honour, even though I don't use SI any more on my main computer. I guess it was because I reported spam for a while. You should be a moderator too.by Cerberus - General Re: Storing strokeit config on dropbox. Location of config file - 11 years agoHmm no idea, sorry. You would have to experiment.by Cerberus - General Re: StrokeIt stopped working - 11 years agoI have no idea, sorry. That's going to have to be a process of elimination. You could start with installing SI in a new User, see if that works. And are you sure you don't have gestures disabled globally or something? You could make a back-up of your SI settings, then uninstall and put all Strokeit folders in "Documents and Settings" in the trash can. That way you should beby Cerberus - General Re: New tab - 11 years agoAh yes, those evil applications change their identifiers sometimes, really nasty!by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Storing strokeit config on dropbox. Location of config file - 12 years agoFor me, the configuration files are in ...\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\TCB Networks\StrokeIt\Actions You can check this by adding an action named something like "testqqq" to your Global application in Stroke It the normal way, then open Default.cfg in a text editor and search for "testqqq". If it is there, you're looking at the right file (Global actions arby Cerberus - General Re: New tab - 12 years agohttp://i.imgur.com/67WGD.jpg Your Stroke It should look similar to mine. You need to have these identifiers, or at least the bottom one. You can get them by clicking on the Chrome application (where it says "Google Chrome" in my picture—if you haven't created a Chrome application yet, do so). Then click "Add...", then drag the crosshair over your Chrome window, tby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Strokeit Anonymous anyone? - 12 years agoGemisigo: "Done"? How do you mean? Amit: worst case scenario, you just roll back to an earlier version of Windows, and SI can't *stop* working.by Cerberus - General Re: New tab - 12 years agoBut you said the sound worked, so the gestures must work. I'm assuming you assigned a sound as a command to a gesture in your Chrome application in SI. If not, have you checked the identifiers for your SI Chrome application? Try the crosshair again: perhaps the identifier changed with some new Chrome version.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Strokeit Anonymous anyone? - 12 years agoI would sooner abandon Windows than mouse gestures; but Strokesplus is actively maintained and it works well. However, Jeff seems to be active again, so perhaps SI will be able to survive and prosper forever!by Cerberus - General Re: Abandoning StrokeIt - 12 years agoSame here. I have mostly switched to Strokesplus. But SI will always be my first love! It reigned supreme for a decade.by Cerberus - General |
