Re: Please add possibility of making gestures with any mouse button, not only Right or Left button (+) - 7 years ago@cerebrus and others: Can I get AHK to work so that both left click and right click trigger the (same or different) gestures? I need left click because I am finding the tap-release-tap-drag to be very convenient at times but want to retain the right click mode.by amit - Improvement Requests Re: Strokeit on newer touchpads ("clickpads") - 7 years agoOne solution is to configure left-click as the gesture button. Then we can do tap-release-tap-drag to get gestures without having to worry about those weird buttons.by amit - General Finally! a worthy Linux alternative (and maybe better!) - 7 years agoAfter several years of hunting, I finally found something worthy of use in Linux. Now I can go back to my favorite operating system. The solution is easystroke, a very powerful tool developed by Thomas Jaeger (awesome guy!!) While Strokeit is still somewhat "smoother" than easystroke, the difference is negligible. On the other hand, easystroke has a few powerful features that stroby amit - General Strokeit works on Windows 10 (and Chrome)? - 8 years agoI am currently running strokeit in Windows 10. Everything is fine except that in Chrome, the blue line is offset by a few cm towards bottom right, which is annoying. Please suggest a fix if anyone knows.by amit - General Re: Acrobat Reader X1 Won't Work with StrokeIt - 9 years agoI had numerous problems with Adobe and strokeit .. search the forums. Some hack would fix it temporarily. Then an Adobe update would render it unsable. Finally I tried downgrading Adobe. Eventually I gave up and found a better solution. Here is it: Programs and features -> Adobe*** -> right-click -> uninstall. For pdfs, I would recommend Sumatra pdf.by amit - General Re: Strokeit on newer touchpads ("clickpads") - 9 years agoI tried it on a lenovo T540P. It is quite crappy. The new clickpads are going to kill the strokeit experience. Why does everyone have to follow Apple. I for one hate the "buttonless clickpads". Who's the genius who came up with the idea? And who decided to follow this genius?? Now almost all new laptops have the crappy touchpad. It seems the days of enjoying strokeit are over.by amit - General Re: Colored line trail offset in chrome and firefox... not under cursor - 9 years ago@Samuel thanks for the fix. It does seem to work! to set text sizes larger, go to change only text size" and increase all the sizes.by amit - General Re: For Windows 8/8.1 users, I recommend to use StrokePlus. - 9 years agoWhat functionality of strokeit does it lack? I am also using AHK so need to make sure it works correctly.by amit - General Is there a worthwhile alternative to strokeit yet? - 9 years agoPlease point me to the alternatives. Its scary to think we have only one. I want to install Linux on one of my laptops but lack of a serious alternative is kept me away.by amit - General Re: Problem with Adobe acrobat reader 9.0 and strokeit - 9 years agoThanks for the above Dele. For the English speakers the keystrokes are: Previous: VG Next: VG A bit ugly :) but no choice for now. Wonder how Adobe did this. The manage to screw my happiness with ever new version they roll out.by amit - General Strokeit on newer touchpads ("clickpads") - 10 years agoRecently manufacturers inspired by apple have started making the "buttonless" touchpad, or more commonly known as the clickpad. Here are some pictures of it http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/06/clickpad-synaptic-2.jpg http://www.notebookcheck.net/fileadmin/_processed_/csm_Vaio_Touchpad_38a0382add.jpg Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use strokeit the tradby amit - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 11 years agoAutohotkey has also become one of my addictions.by amit - General Re: Storing strokeit config on dropbox. Location of config file - 11 years agoAh I see. Actions is also applications. By the way, where is the counter stored?by amit - General Storing strokeit config on dropbox. Location of config file - 12 years agoI keep adding new actions frequently, so I need a way to sync those across different computers. I was thinking of using dropbox but I found that there are four config files and I am not sure which to use. I don't want to sync the gestures counter or the gestures but I need to sync all actions and applications.by amit - General Re: Strokeit Anonymous anyone? - 12 years agowhy to deaddict? Just for the fear that sooner or later it will stop working and I might become suicidal then.. So thought I'd be better prepared for the situation :) going to check out strokesplus.by amit - General Re: StrokeIt stopped working - 12 years agoWhich OS/platform? Can you please give details?by amit - General Strokeit Anonymous anyone? - 12 years agoToday I was just considering how much I would be depressed if I was forced to live life without strokeit. I hope this utility is always around till I am alive. Is there a place where strokeit addicts can deaddict themselves? :)by amit - General Re: Abandoning StrokeIt - 12 years agoCan you please let us know what is RM? How do you find life after SI? Did you have to go to Therapy or rehab? :-)by amit - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agook I understand now. it seems to be quite powerful.. I'll give it a try. I need it to remap keys dynamically (as in without requiring a reboot if I change config). Is that possible?by amit - General Re: Stroke and Vista command prompt problem - 13 years agook the problem was that UAC was turned off in the office computer and so it worked nicely. Now I have windows 7 at home and Strokeit works seamlessly with the command prompt.. I guess UAC has been mellowed out in Win 7.by amit - General Re: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all StrokeIt users - 13 years agoLeo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all > StrokeIt users. > > http://www.omniglot.com/language/phrases/christmas > .htm > > Nice new version Jeff what about .9.8 in 2011 ? > > > with best regards > > Leo I'm hoping for version 1.0 :)by amit - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoNothing in mind really. Just wondering if I'm missing out on anything by not using autohotkey.by amit - General Re: New mouse - recommendations? - 13 years agoGet any decent wireless mouse. Strokeit should work fine on any mouse.by amit - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoCerberus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hear, hear! I couldn't live without 4 things: > 1. Windows > 2. StrokeIt > 3. Firefox > 4. Autohotkey For me, windows is there in the list because of strokeit. I would have long ago migrated to Linux if there was a decent Strokeit replacement. Autohotkey seems quite interesting. Any pointersby amit - General Re: Help: StrokeIT not sending keystrokes to application!!! - 13 years agoSucessfully used it with "window class" under Vista home edition. Are you running the app in administrator mode (and Strokeit in normal mode)? In Vista, after fresh install, you have to shutdown the app and run again in "normal mode".by amit - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoWell I agree.... if you are that stupid, then probably Strokeit is not for you.by amit - General Re: Why isn't StrokeIt more popular? - 13 years agoI figured out one more reason. When Strokeit installs, it silently puts an icon of itself into the tray. A new user's first instinct is to right click this icon for accessing configuration. Strokeit (as expected) instead disables itself. (I encountered this with two or three friends to whom I introduced Strokeit.) The user gets frustrated that right clicking does not give any menu and thatby amit - General Re: Stroke and Vista command prompt problem - 13 years agoEverything suggested here has been tried. The only reason I can think of is that one is Vista professional and the other is Vista Home.by amit - General |
