Re: StrokeIt stopped working - 12 years agoI'm on XP SP3 and my SI is working fine as always. Could it be due to some Windows update? Or some other programme that you both use?by Cerberus - General Re: New tab - 12 years agoAre you sure you have the right hotkey set as your command? It should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/WbKOl.jpgby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: All applications except one pattern : is it possible? - 12 years agoHaha I see. This is so like the kind of inexplicable problem I frequently encounter in this or that programme. When you forget to put batteries in your remote control, at least you will found out quickly, because there are no complex possibilities; but if you forgot you put the lid on the battery compartment so that the batteries *sometimes* don't work...that's hell.by Cerberus - General Re: All applications except one pattern : is it possible? - 12 years agoI'm glad you got it to work! One thing: I think everybody uses Strokeit the way you do, including me (with a "Global" app, a couple of specific apps, and a "disabled" app): and yet I don't need any "z " as you do. I overlooked this at first, but my "Global" application/rule has always had zero identifiers, no asterisk or anything. So the reasonby Cerberus - General Re: All applications except one pattern : is it possible? - 12 years agoYou did it the right way: you should add Firefox to the application "disabled apps" and have "disable gestures in this app" checked. So there must be something wrong with your configuration. Are you sure you have the right identifier for Firefox? On my computer, it's these two: MozillaWindowClass MozillaUIWindowClass If your identifier(s) are correct, could it be tby Cerberus - General Re: New tab - 12 years agoAre you talking about a browser? Which browser? Have you tried adding an OSD or Play Sound command to your action in order to see whether the gesture is registered at all? Have you tried using Train Gesture (or whatever it's called) to see whether Srokeit recognizes your gesture? If the gesture is recognized and the OSD or sound happens correctly, it must be something in the browserby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: No gestures available in action pane - 12 years agoIt could be because you are already usingthe Up and Down gestures for another action within the same application.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Hotkeys cannot use "[" - 12 years agoYou need to use instead: most special keys can't just be typed like that as Keystrokes. http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/wiki/index.php?title=Help:Keystroke_pluginby Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Abandoning StrokeIt - 12 years agoSorry it took so long; I understand the benefits of RM. For me the main reason not to want that may be that I don't like to relearn my routine that I have had for so long! Those menus look easier to remember, as you say. I would miss quickly flicking to the Right to go to the next page, or redo, or go forward one level in Explorer... Your accent keyboard sound convenient! I personally prefby Cerberus - General Re: Abandoning StrokeIt - 12 years agoI believe Miro hasn't brought out a new version of JG over the past months; I hope he will pick it up again. JG has a more accessible interface (except that entering keystrokes is a pain), but I am leaning towards Strokes Plus at the moment, because it is more or less complete already, and stable. What's holding me back is mainly the fact that I would have to remake 100 actions by hand.by Cerberus - General Re: Abandoning StrokeIt - 12 years agoI understand that you're not in the mood to switch again any time soon. But I'm still curious about what you didn't like about Just Gestures. I'm still on the fence between JG and Strokes Plus. Is it the fact that entering hotkeys is so inconvenient? I've also had trouble importing my settings from another computer (haven't been able to solve it yet: after I import myby Cerberus - General Re: Abandoning StrokeIt - 12 years agoHey Gemi! What do I see? Your leaving is sad news indeed. I already use SI basically just as a gesture-recognition engine: I have AHK execute nearly all its commands through hotkeys. I had heard of RM before; so what is your reason exactly of switching to it, rather than directing all SI's command to AHK through hotkeys? From your description, it sounds like a step backwards. ----------by Cerberus - General Re: File Open/save dialogs - 12 years agoI don't think it can be done with Strokeit. I use Flashfolder or Filebox Extender to put a button with recently visited folders on my file save/open dialogues in Windows XP. I use Open Wide to automatically make the dialogue box wider. I don't know which version of Windows you're using or whether those programs will work there. Good luck!by Cerberus - General Re: How to make gestures work on desktop even after "show desktop"... - 12 years agoCool, thanks for sharing!by Cerberus - General Re: Plugin that sends mouse clicks? - 12 years agoI sent it to you, but I got "delivery failed". You can simply download it from Leo's website, by the way: http://home.arcor.de/strokeit/index2.htmlby Cerberus - Plugin Development Re: Win7 x64, the wheel up/down gesture doesn't work properly on some 32 bit programs... - 12 years agoJeff has been away for some time now. When he comes back, let's pray he solves this! Meanwhile, I have no idea how it could be fixed. Good luck...by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: how to make "save as" action in IE with strokeit? - 12 years agoThat would need a hotkey that does "Save As" in IE, but I'm afraid there is none, so you'd need to do it by having Strokeit go through the menus. Have it send the hotkey alt+F (to open the File menu), then a Delay 100 command, then a hotkey A (to select save As). That should do it.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: Newbie's Q:assign all predefined gestures as global actions - 12 years agoI'm not sure why you would want this: it wouldn't seem useful, since those application-specific commands will probably only work as intended within their own applications. And you will mess up your global actions too: you will have several actions that are triggered by the same gesture, which will have unpredictable results; I believe only the second one from the top will then be executeby Cerberus - General Re: "Outdated string file detected" Error Message on boot - 12 years agoOthers have had a similar problem, and so have I. I still don't really understand it, but somehow I solved it, and I haven't seen it in a year. It may not be entirely the same, because I also had weird characters appearing in the StrokeIt interface and certain gestures not working. I could usually temporarily solve it by importing a saved gestures/actions backup. If you want to disable one action in Firefox, have you tried creating an action in Firefox with zero commands?by Cerberus - Improvement Requests Re: strokeit just stoped working - 12 years agoWhat have you tried so far? Have you shut down and restarted StrokeIt? Have you tried running it in Admin mode (in Windows 7, right-click the shortcut or .exe for StrokeIt and select "run as admin". Have you checked the settings in StrokeIt's preferences/settings? Make sure the right activation key is selected (right mouse button, or whichever you use). But I'm not sure how the taste switcher works in Windows 7...by Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: HOW TO WORK STROKE IT ON THE "FLASH PLAYER" SITE.. - 12 years agoI have updated my Autohotkey code, and this time it works very well. You will need to make sure the x and y coordinates of the mouse click are on the address bar in your Firefox. Especially the y coordinate (here 43) will be different in your browser. You can add more hotkeys by copying for example the "Next Tab" lines and changing the necessary values. You see ^Tab (stands for controby Cerberus - StrokeIt Actions Re: switched Mousekeys and Keyboardfailure on Windows 7 - 12 years agoI don't have the same problem; but I do often have the alt key being held down after I carry out a gesture, and the left mouse button as well. Very annoying. This has always happen to me, but I used to be unaware that the strange things I often noticed were because a key was held down. I wish I knew how to fix this.by Cerberus - StrokeIt Bugs Re: How many gestures have you performed? - 12 years agoMadness! What's your secret? Is there a special gesture that you perform so often? My most frequent gestures must be copy/paste (up/down) and back/forward (left/right in Firefox).by Cerberus - General Re: How many gestures have you performed? - 12 years agoMtes, you're crazy! Crazy, I say! Are you sure you're counting only StrokeIt strokes?by Cerberus - General Re: stroke it doesn't work with firefox 4.0b10 - 12 years agoCould it be that somehow focus is set back on another window immediately after you activate Firefox? I don't know. Have you tried using the crosshair to identify your Firefox application?by Cerberus - General Re: strokeit + just gestures together? - 12 years agoYou could use Just Gestures for the middle mouse button? If your mouse doesn't have one, you should be able to find a decent one for € 15. I have this Microsoft optical wheel mouse (wired) with three buttons that is extremely reliable and sturdy, and it is usually quite cheap in regular stores. I probably installed it about 2.5 years ago. But I've been using StrokeIt for much longer; I wish I could add all those years up! So far it seems Mkairys wins. I wonder how many Leo has.by Cerberus - General |
