Re: Matt's Solution Running StrokeIt on Windows 10 - 3 years agoI see a displacement of the "colored line" when I draw a gesture on my second monitor, which I attribute to the different resolution. I don't see app-specific behaviors such as you describe though.by MKairys - StrokeIt Bugs Re: "Save As" not working - 3 years agoJust guessing but try unchecking "match as pattern" Also is that window class correct? The two conditions are and-ed you know. Try removing that.by MKairys - General Re: Windows 10 task view and desktop switch commands - 3 years ago(1) In the Command Editor right-click an application and select New Action. I used Global Actions. Select the desired gesture from the dropdown and click Add Gesture. (2) Right-click the New Action and select New Command. Select Keys - Send Keystrokes and copy the given keystroke sequence into the edit box. (3) Rename New Action and New Command to something meaningful. See image in attachby MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: What is /Down ? - 4 years agoMeans draw a diagonal stroke down or up, like / / / Analogous to \Down or \Up which I would draw as \ \ \by MKairys - General Re: Windows 10 Virtual Desktops problem - 5 years agoI can't reproduce this, or find any problem using StrokeIt on a second desktop. What do you mean by "a long gesture"?by MKairys - General Re: Replacements for StrokeIT for the future? - 5 years agoI've looked occasionally but never found anything close. And since StrokeIt continues to work well for me I'm not highly motivated...by MKairys - General Re: alt + left is not the best solution to go back - 5 years agoYes, I misspoke, I meant add a new command to the existing action and the commands would be executed in sequence. But you're saying that didn't work?by MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: alt + left is not the best solution to go back - 5 years agoYes, add a Windows - Activate Window action before the Keys - Hotkey action. The actions will be executed in sequence.by MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: Strokeit sometimes doesn't work - 5 years agoRun task scheduler (e.g. type "taskschd.msc" at command prompt) Action | Create Task General: fill in a name and check "Run with highest privileges" Triggers: click New... and in the New Trigger window select "At log on" Actions: click New... and in the New Action window fill in "Program/script" with the full path to strokeit.exe OK ... that's iby MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: Strokeit sometimes doesn't work - 5 years agoI run strokeit.exe at logon with a Scheduled Task, set to "Run with the highest privileges"by MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: alt + left is not the best solution to go back - 5 years agoPerhaps Windows - Activate Window for the browser window?by MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: strokeit main UI, all buttons disappeared - 5 years agoHaven't seen this... are you running with a scaling factor? (Display settings -> Scale and layout)by MKairys - General Re: Strokeit sometimes doesn't work - 5 years agoI know what the problem is. You have to run StrokeIt with administrator privs to act on windows which also run at that level.by MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: How to start hidden - 5 years agoOnly one I have set is "show StrokeIt icon in system tray"by MKairys - General Re: How to start hidden - 5 years agoPut a shortcut to strokeit.exe in Programs\Startup. Right-click the shortcut, go to Properties, drop down Run: and select Minimized.by MKairys - General Re: How to start hidden - 5 years agoIt starts hidden for me, but I don't have Run StrokeIt when Windows starts checked, I start it with a shortcut in programs/Startupby MKairys - General Re: How to use specific gestures in Edge? - 5 years agoI got it to work using Window Title Match Text As Pattern = *Microsoft Edgeby MKairys - General Re: how to assign middle mouse button to 'browser back' (alt + left) - 5 years agoYour setup looks correct. I tried adding MBUTTON_UP to my Back action and it worked for me. A few thoughts: - you are holding the right button while clicking the middle button, yes? - are you sure your mouse is configured correctly? Most mice these days have a scroll wheel, and "middle button" is only one option for what happens when you press it. - an easy way to test a gesby MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: how to assign middle mouse button to 'browser back' (alt + left) - 5 years agoI just tried it (gesture MBUTTON_UP) and it worked fine.by MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: how to assign middle mouse button to 'browser back' (alt + left) - 5 years agoI've not tried using middle-button as a gesture but I have alt-left assigned to the gesture "left" using keys-hotkey.by MKairys - StrokeIt Actions Re: StrokeIt on Windows 10, will there be any bugs? - 5 years agoWell, I find my experience to be near perfect, I'm not aware of any bugs and I don't have to use any workarounds. I am on Windows 10 of a Surface Pro 3 tablet.by MKairys - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Looking for a program that uses mouse movements as hotkeys - 5 years agoSince you are here you must know that StrokeIt does pretty much that.by MKairys - General Re: How to restart and shutdown my pc with strokeit? - 6 years agoGet a utility that has a shutdown command, like Sysinternals Process Explorer. Figure out the keystrokes to execute what you want, e.g. alt-f-h-s-y to shutdown. Set up a gesture with the keys - send keystrokes command and put the sequence in (FHSY I think).by MKairys - General Re: Right-click in Command Editor window crashes StrokeIt - 6 years agoTurns out not to be as bad as I thought. No crash when the editor window is on my primary monitor, only when it's on one of the two secondaries. I notice it also doesn't remember its position if I don't close it on the primary. I have an irregular monitor setup, StrokeIt isn't the only program to complain ;)by MKairys - StrokeIt Bugs Right-click in Command Editor window crashes StrokeIt - 7 years agoAny right-click on a list item in the Editor window causes StrokeIt to become unresponsive, and shortly brings up the "stopped working" dialog. Clicking empty space in the dialog still works, bringing up the "new..." popup. Ctrl+right-click does the same, and changing preferences to another mouse button (middle) makes no difference. Changing the compatibility mode also makesby MKairys - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Why is Strokeit not working on adobe reader - 7 years agoI see that it doesn't (using Reader DC 2017). It looks like the app is absorbing the right mouse button and not letting StrokeIt see it.by MKairys - General Re: Insert Hotkey for OneNote - 7 years agoUse Keys - Send Keystrokes and spell it out, e.g. sby MKairys - General Re: Reinstalled windows, didn't export, can still retrieve? - 7 years agoShould be no problem, files are in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\StrokeIt, in Actions unless you've also saved custom gestures. Reinstall StrokeIt and overwrite Documents\StrokeIt with the folder from your backup and you should be all set.by MKairys - General Re: Where did Jeff go? Would he be back here again? - 7 years agoI agree with the above, and kudos to Google Translate for enabling me to read it ;)by MKairys - General Re: StrokeIt windows 10 - 7 years agoYes it can be hidden.
