In case it matters, this is on Win7 x64 with a MSby Googer - General Re: Help beta test .9.7 "enhanced" - 14 years ago@jeff, I'd like to test the current version but my license key when I log in is blank and the license from the last version I installed is clearly not valid with this version based on the garbage it displays for the licensed user when I try it. ;) I specifically want to test to see if you ever fixed the issue using any of the mouse button or wheel gestures leaving StrokeIt in a state of fby Googer - General Re: shutdown -s -f -t 1800 - 14 years agoCreate a global action and assign a gesture to it. For the actual action, use Run - Run Program. A previous issue I'd mentioned still exists, but I don't think you mentioned that you fixed it yet. That issue is the issue of mouse button & wheel gestures causing StrokeIt to no longer accept gestures until you manually disable and re-enable gestures. When executing such a gesture, StrokeIt'by Googer - General Re: Editor crashes when defining certain keystrokes - 14 years agoConfirmed - even viewing such hotkey actions (which I'd defined in earlier versions of StrokeIt) causes this crash on my 64-bit Vista box. It seems fine on my 32-bit XP machine though. You didn't specify if you're using the normal or enhanced version of StrokeIt, but in my case it's enhanced. I would reckon this probably doesn't matter though as it's most likely aby Googer - StrokeIt Bugs Re: Help beta test .9.7 "enhanced" - 14 years ago@jeff, this build looks good for running everything now. :) The caveats I noted in my last edit on my prior post of course still apply though about needing to use full pathname to executable, etc. - which isn't a big deal once you're aware of them; it's just that as I said, it is a change in behavior from previous versions. ;)by Googer - General Re: Help beta test .9.7 personal - 14 years ago@adyy: I'm testing the enhanced version so I can't say definitively if this will work for you on the personal edition, but to open up a drive with the current version, make your run command '%windir%\explorer.exe' (without the quotes) and your target dir (i.e., c:\) as the parameter to it.by Googer - General Re: Help beta test .9.7 "enhanced" - 14 years ago@jeff, It looks like my registry entries are defined as you assumed, so I don't think that's the problem. With the new build, the launch e-mail client and new e-mail actions work, but the web ones don't. I decided to watch what's going on with Process Monitor in action and see what's going wrong with the launch actions. :) You're trimming off the first and lastby Googer - General Re: Help beta test .9.7 "enhanced" - 14 years agoThat's better - at least I can test it. :) What's not better is that I have serious regression in the exec plugin - not only does it not actually successfully launch anything (absolutely verified when I created a new action to open Notepad and it never starts when I draw the gesture associated w/ it, and I further verified StrokeIt is supposedly executing it w/ an OSD action I also asby Googer - General Re: StrokeIt Plugins go Open Source - 14 years agoDo you mean for the scripting and mouse plugins to be open-source since they're part of the enhanced version or is this perhaps irrelevant since it could be that these only work on the enhanced version anyway? :P Just curious - I obviously haven't tested to see if they work on the 'normal' version of StrokeIt or not. Edit: Granted I'm an SVN noob, but I haven't haby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoI can't download the new build - on the license key page, the actual link to download the the installer doesn't work. I get the following message in 10 languages when I try: Please come back laterby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years ago@jeff, Good news! I think the crash bug is solved. :D I did have a single freeze when I was really abusing it with one gesture after another after another after another in very rapid succession but I haven't been able reproduce it. I can't say authoritatively if that's indeed even the same as the prior crash bug or not. The actual crash variations of StrokeIt dying, however,by Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoOne other problem I've now noticed in testing other parts of StrokeIt out I don't normally use - the strictly mouse-based gestures aren't working for me (i.e., any of the mouse click or wheel gestures). The instant I click another mouse button or scroll the wheel while holding down my gesture button, the gesture recognition engine doesn't recognize the gesture or even properlyby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years ago@jeff - I can just launch StrokeIt fresh and immediately try executing the launch actions and it'll usually crash / freeze in one of three ways in very short order upon completing the command. If not on the first execution of said gesture, it'll almost certainly within another couple executions of it. The three different ways StrokeIt fails are: 1. Application Error dialog pops upby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoThe crash issue refuses to die. :P http://www.pobox.com/~googer/tcb.zip - updated with a new crash dump once again. :) On the plus side, the 4th and 5th mouse button support works great and is a feature I'd long awaited (and forgotten about even since I'd given up on it, lol). Now I just need to see how long retraining my muscle memory for gestures takes since I in theory do preferby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years ago@Jeff - Sorry for not giving you feedback sooner but I was on vacation and didn't have access to my 64-bit Vista machine. Unfortunately the new build still has problems with the various launch actions. I uploaded a new crash dump generated from running launch web browser to http://www.pobox.com/~googer/tcb.zip .by Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoHi Jeff, The latest build does seem somewhat more stable than previous ones but it did in fact still crash eventually on my Vista x64 box. ;) New crash log uploaded already ( http://www.pobox.com/~googer/tcb.zip ).by Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoConfirmed - the phantom lua5 entry in the plugins list is now gone. :) I haven't yet played around with using Lua addons, including (obviously) Alien, but I love the potential here. We should be able to do some real interesting stuff if we get creative. To this point, I keep on meaning to play around with this and then haven't gotten a chance to. :p The latest build still crashesby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agogemisigo: the lua5.1 plugin is loaded - it's just showing its 'clean' name since it is. It's the 'Scripting Engine' plugin. :) The lua5 entry is simply extraneous and shouldn't be there at all. :pby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoI just installed and am now giving this latest build a shot and now we're starting to get there. + No problems with mhook.dll this time around. + Mouse click actions now appear to be working. I'll guess you can't easily do anything about this but it would be nice if temporarily visibly moving the cursor to the click position didn't occur. ;) + I see the mouse and scriby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoI haven't tried this new build on my 64-bit Vista machine yet but on a different box (running plain old 32-bit XP Pro w/ SP3), when I run StrokeIt, I get an error dialog - Title: Error Message: mhook.dll is invalid. Obviously StrokeIt isn't working even though it is running after clicking the OK button to close this dialog. ;)by Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoI don't use these gestures often so I don't know if this is new to this enhanced version or if it by some chance it affects .9.6 as well but I've noticed that StrokeIt frequently closes on its own or crashes after running the Run Explorer, Run E-Mail, or Run Web Browser actions. It took several tries to not just get an empty (0 KB) crash report but here you go. :) http://www.pobby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoThanks Jeff, this new build works much better though of course still isn't perfect. ;) + The example Lua script works fine, though at this time I haven't really tested anything with it beyond that. I expect I'll write some Lua scripts for use with gestures over the next few days. + The default actions look fine now; I'll take one more look through them to make sure you dby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoThanks Jeff, that's much better. :D I'm having problems with both of the new plugins though - the mouse plugin doesn't seem to actually be sending mouse clicks as far as I can tell when I have that selected as the action, and I can't get the Lua plugin working at all. The first problem with the Lua plugin is that even with a clean install, there was no Scripts directory creby Googer - General Re: Help beta test "enhanced" version - 14 years agoHi, I signed up for this version and got notified (with license information, etc.) via e-mail for this today, so I gave it a whirl and currently doesn't look good. :p I had no problem installing it - my license key was recognized fine and everything; it's just after installing that there's a problem. Even after rebooting, etc., StrokeIt is running (I see strokeit.exe in Taskby Googer - General |
