Assign a Function Key?
September 09, 2005 11:06AM
Is there any way to make a strokeit gesture and assign it to a function key? (like F8 - or any other). If there is, that would be great. If not, it should be implemented... it would open up a whole slew of great functionality.

(Right now I have Konfabulator hooked up to my F8 key, and I would much rather just gesture to bring it up than have to move my WHOLE HAND up to the top of the keyboard. Aaaah strokeit, good job feeding my lazyness)

Well, I figured it out. In case anyone was wondering the same thing - do this:

Right click "Global Actions" and hit "New Command"
There are instructions on how to simulate any key pressing, and in my case, I did [F8_Down][F8_up].

Name your "new action" and assign it a keystroke, and you're all set. I'd like to thank boredom for allowing me to sit here and figure it out - my lazyness also thanks you (me).
