Explorer "UP"Posted by Dan
You have another solution for that.
The parent directory can be reached through the 3rd menu of the explorer. I'll try an approximate translation of my menus as I'm not running an English version of Windows/ "Display" -> "Reach" -> "Parent Directory" Can't give you the shorcuts you should type because they'll be different, but you can easily lead a gesture to this button :) Hope this helps
Yes, the english version it is: View, Go To, Up One Level or: [ALT]vou as it would appear in Strokeit [that being up and not back, Backspace also works in Internet Explorer for Back - but Holding Alt and using the left right arrows does a better job I think] .....at least until Strokeit came along with the drag left right action - which is hot as hell. ^_-'
Dan-
Actually, backspace _is_ the keyboard for "up one level" in Explorer. Try it. Open "My Computer". The Back button is disabled, but the Up One Level button is available. Hit Backspace and you go to the desktop. Then Up One Level is not available, because you are already at the top. Back (alt-L) takes you to My Computer. Backspace does nothing. Just figured this out for myself today on w2kp and wxphsp2. You may be running something different, though.
To Go One Level Up
Press The following... 1) ALT+V (Goto View Menu) 2) O (Activate Goto Menu Item) 3) U (Activate Up One Level Menu Item The Following Simulates [ALT_DOWN]v[ALT_UP]OU You Can Select The Gesture As Up And In the New Command Select --> Keys - Send Keystrokes And in the TextArea in the lower part of the screen Past [ALT_DOWN]v[ALT_UP]OU Thanks. PS. This Method is not As Elegent. Another Way may exist where we can directly send messages to explorer using Windows Messages. Any Windows Programmer can help us with That...
