CTRL/ALT/SHIFT keys

Forgive me if this is answered elsewhere, but I did a search and didn't come up with anything.

I've tried dinking around with the keystoke commands, but haven't found how this might work.

I'm using a tablet pc and starting out using gestures

There's one annoyance...I can't use a shift/ctrl/alt click to do things like select a list of files or individuals like with ctrl or shift.

I was hoping I could use gestures for this - however [shift] doesn't seem to work.

I guess I could use two gestures for [shift-down] and then [shift-up] and click on files in between, but it would be cooler if I could make one gesture once for shift down, and then the same gesture again would turn it off.

Is there any keystroke command that will allw me to do that for those special click keys?

Thanks
