Drawing on desktop: no action

Hello!

Are gestures supposed to work on the desktop? I thought they did, but now they don't (but maybe they never did). I thought it was Rainmeter (which I recently installed), but it didn't work either. :(

Problem: I draw a gesture on the empty desktop, but it doesn't work. If I open a window (maximized or minimized) and draw a gesture on TOP of the window, the action works.

I've added the action to both "Global Action" and "Desktop": neither work. Thoughts?

Also, pertinent information:

Running StrokeIt .9.7 on Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
I reinstalled .9.7 and reimported my actions and commands: same problem.
I can draw on the taskbar and the action will work (if I can fit the gesture in there), but still on my wallpaper/desktop, it doesn't work. :(

And somehow it has corrected itself?

Never mind! :)

Rainmeter is also not the issue as I have it running...weird....
