Execute two commands with one gesturePosted by laavista
I’m new to Stroke It. I’ve scanned the forum threads, watched the YouTube video, and I tried downloading the help file (it downloaded, but displayed no info when you clicked a topic). I need help as I need to understand the underlying process, plus figure out how to execute two commands for 1 gesture. For instance, I already have Internet Explorer open. I want to the gesture to open the website “ebay†and then automatically search for a keyword, e.g., “iPhoneâ€Â.
First question: is the following correct regarding the overall process? Create a new application (“new applicationâ€Â) Create a new action (“new actionâ€Â) Select or create a gesture that launches the action, e.g., an “L†Create a command (“new commandâ€Â) that is performed when the gesture is used (e.g., open website “ebay†Second question: How do you get 2 commands executed for the 1 gesture? I can get one command to work, e.g., open ebay site by selecting “internet-open website†then entering http://www.ebay.com into the website window. I can also get a separate command to work entering in a keyword like “iPhone†and having it search for that word by using “keys-send keytrokesâ€Â, then putting the following in the box below “iPhone[enter_down][enter_up]. How do you get these two commands working with the one gesture? I tried using two commands under the action (the command outlined above), but it only executed the first command. I then tried do everything with keystrokes, but that didn’t work. Your help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
You have to add a delay to execute two commands in a particular sequence, otherwise they execute simultaneously.
@Leo: Woah, dude... For this purpose you should just use the Internet - Open Website command using "http:// shop.ebay.com/?_nkw=iphone" as the website (without the space or quotes). And it's 6 seconds faster! Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 06/18/2009 09:06AM by gorkyness.
I really appreciate your idea, but cannot get it to work.
The steps I took 1) file, new application 2) file, new action 3) selected a gesture and added it 4) file, new command 5) selected "internet - open website" 6) entered in box below "http:// shop.ebay.com/?_nkw=iPhone" (without the quotes and without the space between the / and the word shop) Did I do something incorrect? Thanks so much for your patience.
Hi laavista,
http://www.datafilehost.com/download-6525c871.html and with help file Beginning with Windows XP SP2 and carrying on into Windows Vista, Microsoft has installed a firewall that prevents network access to programs by default. Running a program that requests network access generally shows a security warning with an option to permanently unblock network access for the program in question. However, since CHM help files are not true programs, you don't always see the security warning. If you are seeing a "Navigation Canceled" message when attempting to open any CHM help file, you will need to manually unblock the file. To do this, right click on the CHM file and select "Properties..." Under the General tab, at the bottom of the window, you should see a Security section with an Unblock button. Click on the Unblock button and then click OK on the properties dialog. Now, double clicking on the CHM file should launch the help file.
