StrokeIt
StrokeIt and Google Chrome new web browserPosted by romeo623
Ok I downloaded StrokeIt for the first time just to get it to work with Chrome. I have Forward/Back buttons working fine with it and for me it's all I really want. I'm sure those that want more can just add to what I did. I believe it should work with any keyboard shortcuts available in Chrome.
Add Application: Chrome (or whatever you want to name it) Add Application Identifier, Window Class: Chrome_XPFrame Add Gestures: Left (or whatever you want to name it) Add command, Keys - Send Keystrokes: [alt_down] [alt_up]
Add Gestures: Right (or whatever you want to name it) Add command, Keys - Send Keystrokes: [alt_down] [alt_up]
Chrome is a pile of shite.. not even strokeit's mouse gesture could make that junk worthy of being installed (along with shity googleupdate.exe process running the bg) of any powerusers comp.. unless ur a google noob... but really that app is shite.. nothing more than a rip of Maxthon2 UI without a fraction of the functionality and customizability, if a fast browser engine is all that matters & fucking zero useful features in a browser I pitty you. And ofc its fast it doesn't fucking do jack shit other than look like some noobcrap.
Is anyone else always accidentally closing Chrome (with multiple tabs) when attempting to close one tab? I define Chrome as Window Class "Chrome_XPFrame". I use "Down-Right" as my gesture. I used to use the Command Hotkey "Ctrl-F4", but recently switched to "Ctrl-W".
Both are documented to close the current tab, which they usually do. Sometimes, with either of them, it will close the entire Chrome window. When they work properly, the tab closes instantly. When they don't work, there's a split second where it doesn't close, so I know it's happening, then the whole window closes. Anyone else seen this? Do you have a workaround?

Do you have a workaround? @J - you might check under the [Global Actions] tab for a Global Close stroke of [Down], or something similar to your [Down-Right] stroke - the gesture engine might just be misinterpreting your gesture to close the entire app, versus just the current tab ?

Good call, mousehappy. I think it's actually the "C" gesture that's linked to Alt+F4. I bet I've been putting a little top hook on my Down-Right, so it registers as a C shape and closes. I thought I had disabled all the global gestures, since I only use Stroke-It for Chrome, but I will reconfigure. Thanks!
I have mouse gestures set up for use in Chrome. They were working like a charm. Last night on my home laptop, they seem to have stopped working. Now this morning, on my work desktop, some are not working. Back and Forward no longer work, although my gesture for Home, Down and Reload are working. Any ideas?
