Explorer Command: Change to Parent Folder?
March 01, 2003 04:07AM
Hi,

In the Exporer I would like to define a gesture to go to the parent folder. Since this command is not bount to a short cut key (it'S only available in the menu) I don't know how to tell Explorer to do that? Any Ideas (maybe by a Winmsg of some kind)?

Cheers,
Olaf

Backspace goes up one level in explorer, so just set a hotkey to do a backspace.
Thanks, yes, Backspace would work.

Also, I just found out which message to post to go to the parent:

WM_COMMAND
WParam: 40994

The good thing about this is that the window does not have to be active (no need to click on it first)!

Cheers,
Olaf

I wanted to do this as well and I have amnaged to add the action and the command. However, it only works when I choose up+right or some other action, it refuses to recognize the action I want: Up+left (that is the Opera default, I don't want different actions for the same commands in different applications). What might be the reason for this?
