Is there a gesture for "scroll down"Posted by gaog66
Hi,
I am just learning to use strokeit, and it is just fantastic! However when browsing webpages, what is the gesture for scrolling down the page? Or at least perform the function of the "page down" key? I searched but could not find any help on the keystroke plugin. Thanks for your help! Gordon

R-click [Global Actions] in the folder tree on the Left, choose 'New Action', & whilst the 'New Action' box is still highlighted, press F2 & rename it PageDown for example. 2. The 'Actions' dialogue box will appear on the Right, so click the drop-down arrow & choose the gesture that YOU want to be executing this Action. Then click 'Add Gesture' to add the gesture to the action. (you CAN associate more than 1 gesture to perform the same action, and also further modify that gesture w/ additional command parameters.) 3. Now R-click the 'New Action' box or 'PageDown' if you renamed it, & choose 'New Command', & the 'Configure a command below.' dialogue box appears on the Right. 4. Click the drop-down arrow in the top dialogue box to make your choice of command type. I choose Keys - Hotkey, then 5. Click in the bottom dialogue box ---> the 'Hotkey:' box , & press the PgDn key on the computer, & NEXT will show up in the box, because ..... the PAGE DOWN key = NEXT , remember ? ;) Now your gesture will perform the PAGE DOWN (like a scroll) command. Follow the same general procedure for PAGE UP. Further : if I execute my gesture on this webpage, it only seems to take me half-way down my screen. so, I got curious ..... what would happen if I added a 2nd PgDn command? I did that, and ....... now the gesture takes me twice as far ! or .... all the way down my screen to the bottom of the 'page' - because the command is being executed 2 times. ...... the definition of a web 'page' in the .html code will not necessarily = the full length of your screen. also, the more posts there are on a 'page', the longer the 'page' will become, eh? so, there's got to be better ways to control "scrolling" than this strategy I just explained, & I will post later as I learn newer/better ways. Further : Using AutoHotKey or AutoIT, you could write a fancier script to more finely control/manipulate the scrolling, then assign a hotkey to the script, then assign a StrokeIt gesture to the hotkey. ******************************** I'd like to see some new Life in this forum - I'm a new user, I hate the learning curve, I receive help & so do my best to give it back ..... anyone else's ideas for different strategies to do this or similar, clearly written, step-by-step, taking no-thing for granted, would be highly appreciated by myself + many others , THX ! :-) Edited 1 time(s).
