StrokeIt
Activate Window - Enter Password fails, please help!!Posted by Dennis

Hi pros,
I still have the same problem as I had a while ago, I'll try to explain it more clearly and maybe u can help me out then. I want StrokeIT to popup the connection Manager from Win2k, enter the Password and connect me to the net, and no I dont want to save the Password in the Connection Manager. My first problem is this: I activated "Prevent applications from stealing focus" in TweakUI, this is very important for instant messengers. Dont you hate that, if your chatting with someone and another stupid window just pops up? Other programs, or just starting them with a normal double click, of course brings them to front (activates) properly, but if StrokeIT starts a program it doesnt go to front, its allways in the Background. Maybe you have to change that somehow Jeff. Or maybe I just have to set another Argument. Here's a pic how it looks now for me, especially for the Connection Manager, even with speciefied "Activate Window" it doesnt work: I am running the PPP Connection, from a link from my desktop, because I dont know if theres any other way to open a dialup connection, with plain windows, well it works! The last thing I do is Let StrokeIT enter the Password into the desired Box(by going there with TAB). It works perfectly if i execute the command from the Desktop, because IMO Desktop is the lowest layer and nothing can go in the background of that. So I can just do my action and everything works fine, but executing the Action in any other program fails. I think all of this just has to do with the activation process of StrokeIT, can't it simply "execute" the programs, just like a double click does? I think that you are doing that somehow different Jeff :) I hope I clarified myself a bit I'm thankful for any help. Dennis

Hi Dennis,
Your'are right I use win9x. 1.Perhaps you make a minimize all command before you launch your Internet connection. 2.Use QuickDialer a little program source included http://am-productions.yi.org/ startup switch options - /h hide on startup - /p do not save password - /a autodial on startup !!!!! - /f "filename" use different isp settings - /i hide connection info upon connection - /d disconnect on startup !!!! - /x exit quickdialer after switches are run Good luck Greets Leo
