Lock computer?
October 06, 2005 04:36PM
I'd like to use a gesture to put my computer into Lock (instead of having to his ctrl-alt-del and then choosing "Lock Computer").

Can someone tell me how to set this up?

Thanks...

I use the lock computer stroke all the time. The way mine works is:

Run Program
rundll32.exe

arguments
user32.dll,LockWorkStation

It is fast and doesn't rely on a windows key (my IBM thinkpad doesn't have one).

Cheers

While the rundll32.exe etc. version works, but since sending keystrokes does not require a keyboard physically to be present (it does not use the hardware, it sends keypress messages), the WIN+L is method shall work just as well (and a bit more readable).
