X-Mouse toggle
April 08, 2005 07:09AM
I've been trying to come up with a gesture to enable/disable the X-Mouse feature in Windows XP Home.
Has anyone else done this ?
Is it possible ?
I only want to toggle the "Activation Follows Mouse" setting.

I would say write a plugin that will allow you to change a registry value, and then you can use the information here:

To finish off the task.

I"ve already tried that.
Unfortunately using that method you have to reboot for it to take effect.
I thought there might be a way to change the setting the way TweakUI does it, so that it takes effect immediately, without having to reboot.

That's interesting. There are some tools available from sysinternals that should let you sniff out what exactly tweakui is doing.

I have a small utility called XMouseToggle on my web page – just download, unzip, and set your gesture to execute it.
