StrokeIt
Linux versionPosted by Aleksey
Actually, i use global mousegestures under linux for some years. The KDE-Project have a simple implementation named khotkeys which work with the most applications. Sadly it is far away from the perfection of strokeit, so i use only a few basic-functions per application.
I hope some day the algorithem of strokeit will be uncovered and can be used for other engines ;)
you should check out http://www.stressbunny.com/wayv/
maybe not as advanced, but worth a shot. the nice part is that one can edit gestures in a text file. the drawback of that is that the program can't learn new gestures. it's opensource, so you can make it better :-)

the nice part is that one can edit gestures in a text file. <<<< NIce part?? well i am pretty sure it doesn't have application specific feature, coz that would require some kind of gui, which a linux app would (for some reason) never have. Same for learn gestures feature. It cannot be used with gedit or something.
Try this application: www.inf.ufsc.br/~deters/xgestures
It is an improvement in the implementation of the software xgestures (mouse gestures for x environments), in order to bring it closer to the strokeit ... I am forwarding the changes in the software to the original author, so that the changes can be incorporated in the original software. The software is still in testing ... Need to return the users to fix the problems. Sincerely, Lucas
Easystroke works (up to now) for me as good as strokeit!!
Sorry strokeit, but now I need no longer to stay with windows to use a decent (other apps are crap) mouse gestures like Strokeit. Finally I miss nothing now on my linux boxes!! Easystroke works pretty good! Thanks anyway for the nice applications, have saved me a lot of my time during years. Xeers. |
