some improvements

hello,

1) some mouses have more than 2 buttons (logitech mx510...). it would be great to specify the StrokeIt gesture button, other than right button. And make gestures associated with some dead-key only too (shift, alt,..)

2) why, in learning mode, cannot we review the standard gestures ?

3) another great thing, but perhaps difficult to implement, would be to add the notion of 'start' and 'stop' point, to make gestures applying on the object where the gesture start or stop. ex: a gesture showing the properties of a file in the explorer.

4) is it really impossible to make gestures being recognized with directx full screen applications ?

5) devloping plugins. I m devloper and plugins seems useless for me. How can I create a plugin being called when a gesture start, or terminate ? How can I enumerate gestures ? add/remove gestures ? etc.

It s some improvements only. StrokeIt is already a 'must have' soft.
Thank u.
Leo

Hi s.pierre-yves,

Unfortunately, windows only provides programmers with support for 3 button mice, and (as far as I know), there is no "generic" way to support 5 button mice without specifically coding for every mouse there is.

I'd love to be able to add this, however, so if anyone knows otherwise, or has a good link to more developer's information on this, let me know.

to 2) Gesture are stored in a different way then just mouse coordinates. I am not sure but I guess it is like a checksum.

Gesture start and endpoint data are not currently available. They may show up in future releases.

to 4) Who knows... play black and white ...

to 5) Perhaps Scott or Jeff knows an answer..

Perhaps I have to update FAQ.

with best regards

By the way s.pierre-yves,

You could implement an paste text only plugin.
A plugin you simply wrote some words or symbols in a box and this text immediately apear when you make the chosen gesture.

This is simple I know but would help a lot of people.

with best regards
Leo
