Support for 5 button mice?

I would love to use the side buttons on my mouse for gestures so it doesn't interfere with my right-drag in explorer.

Unfortunately, windows only provides programmers with support for 3 button mice, and (as far as I know), there is no "generic" way to support 5 button mice without specifically coding for every mouse there is.

I'd love to be able to add this, however, so if anyone knows otherwise, or has a good link to more developer's information on this, let me know.
