close tab in firefox

lately i am finding that "close tab" in firefox doesn't work. i have gesture set as \down. used to work, doesn't anymore. i tried adding other gestures to "close tab". they don't do it either.

i can go back or forward, and minimize in firefox. just "close tab" doesn't work.
any ideas why?

Is the hotkey for closing a tab still the same? They might have changed it in the last update. Some applications use CTRL+F4, other use CTRL+W, some accept both.

i fixed the problem. "close tab" worked on desktop but not on laptop.

i compared the application identifiers. there were 2 on desktop and one on laptop. so i dragged the 'target', from the application identifier window in strokeit, to the taskbar in firefox. it created a new identifier, different from the one that already existed.

presto! 'close tab' worked.
