Doesn't work too well with Winamp

Hi

I been using Strokeit 9.2a for a long time already. It works great for every thing but I tried to use it on winamp lite 2.91 (www.winamp.com), it is behaving oddly.

In winamp, the Z, X, C, V, B keys would trigger Prev, Play, Pause, Stop, Next.

When I configure the command to "Send the hotkey to window", those few keys are behaving oddly

Gesture Left, Hotkey Z - Nothing happens
Gesture Up, Hotkey X - L gets sent
Gesture Down, Hotkey C - Nothing happens
Gesture DownUp, Hotkey V - Ctrl-V gets sent
Gesture Right, Hotkey B - Nothing happens

If I sent other hotkey combinations, it works fine i.e Alt-E to open playlist.

These keys work normally via keyboard, and they have an alternate trigger using the NUMPAD keys. If I set Strokeit to send NUMPAD hotkeys, it would work, but not the Z-B.

I have set the classID of winamp in the application. The weird part is some hotkeys would work. Any help?
Jeff

Use SendMessage instead of the keys. See the default Winamp config file: http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/files/actions/Winamp%202.x.cfg and search the forums for more information.

Thanks Jeff.

Is there any reason why this is happening? Cos I just encountered another application where it is not responding to the hotkey.

I'm not really sure why it's happening.

It may be a focus issue. The keystroke plugin will activate the window that the gesture was performed in before simulating the keystrokes.

It could also be some software on your end that's interfering with the keystrokes or the window handling.

If you're sure that it's not something specific to your computer and you can narrow it down to a few test cases that I can reproduce, I'll see if it's something fixable over here.

Hi Jeff,

Don't think it's a focus issue. I'm sure it's not something on my computer either because it's works fine with other apps. Besides, it's only some hotkeys that are not responding.

Other than winamp case, this program which has a problem is Xnews, a newsreader. The 'L' key will switch focus between the message and thread window, in whichever window I pressed 'L'.

I have bind "Down" to hotkey 'L'. Xnews doesn't respond to "Down". Xnews is responding to the Next and Previous hotkeys fine. Other Global Actions like "Up" to send "F5" works fine too.
