StrokeIt
Gestures [\ Up] and [Up-Left] not recognized.Posted by Jeff

I'm trying to hunt down a bug several users have reported where the [\ Up] and [Up-Left] gestures are incorrectly. If you're experiencing this problem, please let me know.
How to know if you're exeriencing this problem: 1) Open the StrokeIt command editor by clicking the icon in the tray. 2) Open the learning mode from the menu: Edit | Learning Mode... 3) Draw the the following: Which should be recognized as [Up] Which should be recognized as [\ Up] Which should be recognized as [Up-Left] If any of these gestures are not being correctly recognized on your system, please let me know, and mention what operating system you're using. Thanks, Jeff

Before we get a bunch of "me toos" in here, I want everbody to be sure we're working off the same setup. I am, as yet, entirely unable to reproduce this - even on a Win98se machine. If anybody else running Win98se does NOT experience this error, please mention it here.
Steps to make sure we're all using the same setup: 1) Open the StrokeIt command editor by clicking the icon in the tray. 2) Shutdown StrokeIt using the menus: File | Shutdown 3) Go to "c:\program files" 4) Rename the StrokeIt folder to StrokeIt.old 5) Install StrokeIt .9.1 6) Follow the steps posted earlier to see if this bug is affecting you. If step 4 fails because of "files in use", you'll probably need to reboot. First, make sure strokeit is not set to run at startup by going to preferences and unchecking the "Run StrokeIt when Windows starts" option. After rebooting, continue with steps 4 and 5. Thanks, Jeff
