Local gestures

A local gesture is a gesture that can be drawn inside an application window and is active only in an application window.

  1. Open the Shorthand Command Editor. Select Start > All Programs > Shorthand, or tap the Shorthand icon  in the System Tray.
  2. Define the application.
    1. Select File > New Application.
    2. Click Add, drag the finder tool into the application window, and then tap OK.
    3. Name the application by right-clicking on App, and then select Rename.
    4. To disable an application, check Disable gestures in this application.
  1. Define the gesture.
    1. Select the application in left pane, and then select File > New Action.
    2. In the right pane, select a gesture from the drop-down menu.
  1. In the left pane, name the action (the gesture you selected in sub-step 3.b. which triggers the action) by right-clicking on New Action, and then select Rename.

  1. Define the command.
    1. Select the action in the left pane, and then select File > New Command.
    2. From the drop-down menu located under Configure a command below, select a command. The following are some of the commands used:
    1. If any syntax or commands are required, type the commands in the correct right pane (depending on the command you selected in Configure a command below).
    2. In the left pane, name the command by right-clicking on New Command, and then select Rename.
    3. Tap in the new name.
