colored line stops abruptly

when drawing gestures the colored line just ends a split second after starting. for example an upward stroke will end before the button is release and only half the line will be drawn, and it will remain on the desktop until a window is moved over it.
the gesture isnt timing out because even after the line stops being drawn it continues to recognize the movements. ive tried uninstalling and deleting all files as well as the registry entries and it still has this problem on a fresh install.
any help?

i have identified the problem as an incompatibility with speedfan. when speedfan is running it causes the line drawing to end. i assume it has something to do with its monitoring refresh rate.

I am using version .97 as well and windows 7.
everything was working great but now, all of a sudden, my colored lines won't appear either.

I checked all my settings and they seem to be okay.

UPDATE:
I did "SHUTDOWN STROKEIT" and then restarted. Colored lines come back.
