Desktop recognition

<HTML>The gesture recognition straight on the desktop doesn't work properly if the Windows taskbar has been moved to the top or left-hand side of the desktop. It skips left or down by the width of the bar, I guess because it's not coded to handle the desktop offset the taskbar introduces.

It's surprising how many apps get confused by freaks like me using a "nonstandard" desktop configuration!</HTML>

<HTML>What are you talking about? "Straight" (assuming you mean "Left" or "Right") is not defined on the desktop. If you're talking about task switching ("Up-Right" and "Up-Left"), it works fine for me using NT4.

No, I just meant "directly" on the desktop. (i.e. not in a window)

I've narrowed it down some more -- it happens only when "web content" is enabled on the desktop.</HTML>
