Suggestion: 8-directional "buffered" gestures

Hello, would it be possible to have 8-directional gestures that are executed only after pressing a left mouse button?

Something like this:

Whenever you move a mouse to one direction, a command would be buffered but not executed until you press a mouse button.

Only the last mouse movement would be recorded inside the "buffer"
