How to start hidden

Trying to start Strikeit when my computer starts, which works fine. I just dragged the shortcut into Startup in the start menu.

Now, every time I start my computer, the Strokeit window appears. How can I make it go to the notification area right away? Is there some commandline argument I should add or something?

I'm afraid the documentation/wiki page doesn't work at all, so I have no way of knowing what to do. I also can't find a relevant option in the preferences dialog.

Under Windows 10 I have set under Edit / Preferences
- How StrokeIt icon in the system tray
- Run StrokeIt when Windows starts

That works fine.

I have both options checked as well, but for me strokeit shows its window when the pc starts. Both options work well though: it shows in the "system tray" (actually called notification area since 2007-ish ;)) and it does autostart.

But it doesn't hide itself when starting. That's the missing option, it seems.

How do I start it hidden *and* automatically?

Put a shortcut to strokeit.exe in Programs\Startup. Right-click the shortcut, go to Properties, drop down Run: and select Minimized.

That's what I did. And not only does it not start minimized, it doesn't hide itself either.

Any settings needed for this?

"Run StrokIt when Windows starts" and add "Start StrokeIt hidden"

So, I'm still having to close the window every morning when I boot up my pc.

I'm wondering why it's taking so long to get this issue resolved. Is there anything I can offer help with?
