Mouse doesn't release at end of gesture

Got a weird issue. I frequently use a diagonal-up-right gesture with a spreadsheet, and recently sometimes (maybe 1 out of 6 times) when I do the move, the gesture doesn't release when I unclick the right button, causing the gesture to keep going and not work properly. This may be a problem with the mouse hardware, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this.
