Acrobat Reader X1 Won't Work with StrokeIt

Acrobat Reader X1 Won't Work with StrokeIt
August 30, 2014 03:27PM
For some reason, I cannot get StrokeIt to work with Acrobat Reader X1 (v 11.0.08).

The standard Acrobat Reader right-click menu pops-up, not the StrokeIt "blue line". I have added all the various Window Class, Title, Name options, but it is as if StrokeIt is disconnected from the app.

Anyone else having this problem? Suggestions?

Thanks.

You can find the discussion in this link: http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/forum/read.php?3,55485,57563#msg-57563

the solution is:
(Edit > Preferences > General > uncheck "Enable Protected Mode at startup")

the path may chanced in the new version of pdf reader, but it must be somewhere.

I had numerous problems with Adobe and strokeit .. search the forums. Some hack would fix it temporarily. Then an Adobe update would render it unsable. Finally I tried downgrading Adobe. Eventually I gave up and found a better solution.

Here is it:

Programs and features -> Adobe*** -> right-click -> uninstall.

For pdfs, I would recommend Sumatra pdf.

YES! For Acrobat Reader DC (v 2021.005.20048)
The solution, as andreasliyr suggested, has moved to

EDIT->PREFERENCES->SECURITY (Enhanced)

There will you find and UNCHECK --->"Enable Protected Mode at Startup"

It works! Thank you andreasliyr
in the new DC pro acrobat, you need to access this settings from the Security
Edit > Preference > Security (Enhanced) / Uncheck the "Enable protected mode at startup"
