Is there a worthwhile alternative to strokeit yet?

Please point me to the alternatives. Its scary to think we have only one.
I want to install Linux on one of my laptops but lack of a serious alternative is kept me away.

May I ask why Strokes Plus isn't a worthwhile alternative?

(I still love Stroke It, but it was unreliable for me under certain circumstances, so I switched to Strokes Plus years ago. Strokes Plus has been very reliable for me all the time, Windows XP.)
