Guidelines for Reporting new Bugs

Check if your problem has already been reported

Before posting a new thread in the bugs forum or on the Bug Tracker, please use the Search to see if your issue has been reported before. Odds are good that your issue has been discussed already.

Report the Bug

Bugs can be discussed on the bugs forum, and officially reported using then Bug Tracker.

Bugs Forum: If you're just having some problems with a configuration or something isn't working quite right, it's not always a bug in the program. Asking for help on the forums is often the quickest way to get things working.

Official Bug Tracker: If you've found something that just doesn't work they way everyone says it should, or if you've found a way to crash the program, please submit an official bug report. There is a lot of activity on the forums, and it's hard to keep track of everything going on. Using the bug tracker makes sure that your issue doesn't fall through the cracks.

Making an Effective Bug Post

Please include the following items with a new post to make an effective report that can be more easily verified and then addressed:

1. Meaningful Title

Topics like "StrokeIt doesn't work" and "Problem" aren't helpful. Consider a more meaningful summary.

2. StrokeIt version

You should always be using the latest official release of the software. Additionally, there may be a beta version that has already fixed your problem. When reporting a bug, be sure to mention whether you're using the official release, or a beta.

3. Operating System

Include any operating systems that the behavior has been experienced.

4. Steps to reproduce

Include the steps needed to reproduce the behavior

5. Crash reports

If the application is crashing, it will write some important debugging information to a file in %APPDATA%\TCB Networks\StrokeIt\CrashRpt. Zip any files in that directory and email them to Jeff. His email address is in the about box.

Remember: the more information you provide and the easier you make it to verify your issue, the more likely it is that the issue will be resolved in a timely manner

Bug tracker is down sorry
